"This theme park developed in the rural woodlands of Yakushima features two attractions that allow visitors to enjoy the forests of this World Natural Heritage site from the air. The first is the Canopy Walk, a fun and challenging tree-top walkway. The second is the Canopy Rope, which allows visitors to zip through the trees like a bird. The park's biggest characteristic is that it proposes ""a more natural way to have fun"" than other leisure facilities. All of the materials used to build the attractions other than the metal fittings and other industrial components are sourced locally on Yakushima. The park even made use of the slabs that are a byproduct of the timber milling process where possible as part of a zero emissions initiative on the island."

    Kagoshima Ichikikushikino-shi Ozato 648
This strawberry farm is located about a seven-minute drive from Ichiki Station. The farm grows two types of strawberries; Saga Honoka, which have little sourness and high sugar content, and Benihoppe, which are characterized by their juiciness. The farm grows their strawberries in carefully-cultivated soil rather than in a more easily managed hydroponic medium in order to maximize their fragrance and richness of their strawberries. Thanks to the farm's efforts to use as little agrochemicals as possible, it is possible to eat their strawberries without needing to wash them first.

In addition to being able to see topography specific to a volcanic zone and fumarolic phenomena such as the caldera, crater lake, and Shirasu-daichi Plateau, hot springs dot the area, and many visitors come to the healing hot springs throughout the year. Over 100 active volcanoes across Kagoshima make it one of the Japan's most exciting prefectures. The prefectural capital, Kagoshima city, looks out to one of the prefecture’s most spectacular volcanoes, Sakurajima, an island of its own that can be visited and seen close up or admired from afar, with the promise of breathtaking sunsets complete with frequent puffs of smoke and ash. Down the Satsuma Peninsula, the most southerly part of mainland Japan, waterfalls, sand onsen, and fascinating history await, while Kagoshima's abundance of satsuma imo (sweet potato) provide a wholesome snack as well as one of Japan's favourite drinks - shochu.
