- Since its opening in 1989, this long-established steak restaurant has enjoyed undying popularity. The carefully selected Bungo beef steaks are priced very reasonably, and the steaks are kept on the iron plate until the moment you eat them, so as not to let any of their juice be wasted. After customers finish eating their steak, rice is added to their plate to soak up the remaining juice, in the “Somuri style.” There are also à la carte menu items, including homemade ham and wine and a wide variety of alcohols to go with the steak.

Took us a few attempts to find this place but we’ll worth it. The fillet steak comes with all the trimmings...veg, rice and served in a rich peppercorn sauce. We watched the chef cooking cutting it...

地元の方の御用達のお店。 日替わりランチをオーダーいただいて、この日は串カツでした！既にタレがしっかりかかっていました。 ガッツリいただきました。 とんかつやステーキがメインのお店です。ハンバーグやショウガヤキなどもあります。

A trip to Oita is tantamount to a long soak in the Beppu baths. The mountainous, coastal prefecture of Oita is renowned for having more onsen than any other prefecture in Japan, most of which lie in the city of Beppu on the west coast of Kyushu, recognizable by its pungent sulphuric aroma and the clouds of steam that puff up across the hillside.
