    "This 3,000 square meter grape farm is located on the grounds of Ajimu Family Village a five-minute drive from the Ajimu Interchange on the Higashikyushu Expressway. Visitors can enjoy grape picking and farm-style lodging. The farm grows first-rate Kyoho grapes, known as the ""King of Grapes,"" which will make you feel like a king when you eat them. Other varieties grown on the farm include Bailey A and Shine Muscat. Grape picking season is from late August to early October. The farm also sells its grapes direct, and its original soft-serve ice cream, made with juice from its own grapes, is particularly recommended."

    This tourist farm, a 15-minute drive from the Kitsuki Interchange on the Oita Airport Road, is located inside the seaside Sumiyoshihama Resort Park. Here visitors can enjoy picking delicious strawberries in a resort-style atmosphere. Customers can pick and eat all the strawberries they like for 40 minutes. The farm's tender, juicy Saga Honoka, Beni Hoppe, Toyonoka, and Moikko strawberries grow rapidly in Sumiyoshihama's mild climate. The farm also offers take-home only berry picking. Strawberry picking is offered on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from January 1 to the end of May. The farm is spaciously laid out and the pathways between strawberry rows are wide, ensuring those with baby strollers and wheelchair users can also easily enjoy strawberry picking.

    At this tourist farm, a 15-minute drive from the Kokonoe Interchange as well as the Kusu Interchange on the Oita Expressway, visitors can have fun picking Japanese pears in a field with a wonderful view of the Kusu Basin. The dedicated Japanese pear farm has been in operation for over 60 years. Visitors can pick Hosui, Akizuki, Niitaka, and other varieties which grow large and sweet thanks to the temperature differences created by the farm's high altitude (450 meters above sea level) and underground spring water from Mt. Daiso. Japanese pear picking is offered when the fruit is in season from late August to mid-October. The farm also offers apple picking from late October. Famous sightseeing destinations such as Ryumon Falls, the Kokonoe Yume Suspension Bridge, and Yaba Gorge are located nearby.

    At this reservation-only tourist farm, a five-minute drive from the Kusu Interchange on the Oita Expressway, you can pick blueberries. Taking safety and health as its motto, the farm grows blueberries using organic fertilizer and natural, manual, non-chemical pest repellent methods such as insect nets. Blueberry picking season is from mid-June to late August. The farm also sells lightly sweet blueberry jam made by hand using the blueberries harvested on the farm without the use of preservatives, colorings, or other additives.

    This fruit farm, surrounded by fields, grows strawberries, Japanese pears, and Hitomebore and Hinohikari rice. Also operating as a tourist farm, from late February through May, visitors can enjoy strawberry picking, and, from mid-August through November, Japanese pear picking. The farm's strawberries, in particular are grown in specially chosen soil with electrolyzed water and with almost no chemical fertilizers, and when in season visitors can enjoy 30-minute, all-you-can-eat strawberry picking. Large groups require an advance reservation. The farm also offers a plan in which you can take strawberries home with you, as well as a home delivery service.

    This tourist farm is surrounded by the Katsura River to the east, west, and north. The farm grows strawberries using raised platforms in plastic greenhouses on its 50-hectare grounds. Making maximum use of its naturally lush location at the foot of a mountain, the farm uses tree scraps from the area for fuel and humus. Visitors can enjoy picking Beni Hoppe and three other varieties of strawberries generally from late March to early May. For 40 minutes, customers can pick and eat as many strawberries as they like. In addition to families with children, the farm is a great destination for couples. In December, the farm also sells strawberries packaged to give as gifts.

A trip to Oita is tantamount to a long soak in the Beppu baths.
