This is a waterfall which is said to have been made by an eruption which occurred about 90,000 years ago, which also created Aso’s caldera lake. This is a small waterfall with a height of about 10 meters and a width of about 20 meters, but the appearance of sunlight shining through the curtain-like broadly cascading water is extremely beautiful. “Urami no taki” which is enjoying the waterfall by going around to the other side of the fall is also popular. An event is also held in the springtime in which the far side of the waterfall is illuminated.

This garden is strongly connected to Soho Tokutomi, one of the Meiji period's most celebrated journalists; and his younger brother, novelist Roka Tokutomi. The garden's grounds encompass a memorial museum displaying some 3,000 items which include the brothers' books and personal affects; and a residence where the two spent their youths. The grounds are also the location of the Oe Gijuku, a small private school established by a 20-year-old Soho in 1882 with the aim of creating a democratic school which respected student autonomy. For the next five years until Soho established the Minyusha group in Tokyo, the school taught local children from the standpoint of freedom and civil rights. Today, the school building is closed to the general public due to damage caused by the Kumamoto earthquakes of 2016. The building is scheduled to be reopened to the public in 2020.

"This large local specialty products market's name is derived from the Japanese phrase ""kiyoraka ni utsukushi"" (clean/excellent and beautiful) and that Latin word for home/building. The pyramidal market building stands along National Route 212 and embodies the desire to aim for the realization of a town with a clean environment, excellent goods, and excellent people via the work and involvement of everyone living in the community. A one-day spa in Hirayama Onsen Resort, where the traditions date back as far as 1,300 years ago. The bathhouse is equipped with a large hinoki cypress bath with a hot spring water flowing from the source, a garden open-air bath with seasonal mountain views, a massage-type electric bath, a cascading bath, and a far-infrared sauna. The water used is a weakly alkaline, simple, weakly radioactive sulfur spring. It is famous as spring water for beautiful skin, for the water exfoliates the skin. In 2020, a cafe corner, souvenir shop, and farmers' market were newly opened. Also, the lymphatic massage in the facility can be easily enjoyed from as little as 20 minutes.

"A waterfall located in Hinatame, Ogi-machi, Taketa City. Situated along the Ono River, the waterfall's name means ""white water,"" and there are two theories as to how it got this name. One is that it is because the waterfall appears white due to its numerous streams; the other is that because it is comprised of 99 streams, its name was written with the character for ""100"" minus a line at the top representing ""one,"" resulting in the character for ""white."""
