A venerable Sasebo burger shop beloved by its customers since it was established in 1970. Said to be the originator of the bacon and egg burger, Big Man uses homemade bacon and the shop’s many menu selections are made with breads crafted by the founder, a former bread artisan. No matter what you choose, it’s sure to be good—making choosing a difficult task. The shop can also accommodate wheelchairs and baby strollers. A 10-minute walk from JR Sasebo Station.

Was late for dinner and saw this place still open and fantastic looking thick burgers. Taste good just it’s too big for my bite. Need two bite for the whole thickness. It’s a small joint with few...

HIKARI lovingly prepares each of its burgers to order. Since its establishment in 1951, the restaurant has been popular and renowned purveyor of Sasebo burgers. The Special Burger, topped with cheese, bacon, and an egg, is particularly recommended. A five-minute drive by car from JR Sasebo Station.

Come for the burgers, leave loving the fries. People come from far and wide, judging from the parking lot plates (Fukuoka, Kurume, Kita-Kyushu, Oita are not uncommon) for these reasonably sized...

"This long-established hamburger shop located in Sakae-machi, Sasebo City and founded in 1953 offers hamburgers with a taste that remains unchanged since its establishment such as ""bacon cheese egg burgers."" It is characterized by providing hamburgers upside-down and operating from 8 p.m."

"A Sasebo burger and pizza restaurant located in Mantoku-cho, Sasebo City. The restaurant serves hot dogs, pizzas, and hamburgers like the ""Double Misa Burger,"" the most popular burger on the menu; and the special ""Bacon Egg Cheese"" burger. There's also the huge ""Misa Monster"" burger, an amalgamation of the restaurant's most popular burger toppings; and the ""Misa Monster Jumbo,"" which is twice the size."

"This American diner along Prefectural Route 11 is located in Yatake-cho, Sasebo City. You can eat the Sasebo Burger, characterized by its 100% beef patty and original mayonnaise made through trial and error in order to recreate burgers eaten on the America naval base in Sasebo. It also offers menu items such as sandwiches and hot dogs. Among them, their 15-centimeter diameter and 500-gram large ""Special Burger"" is a popular item."

Nagasaki Areas

around-area-map

This hidden corner of the country is rural Japan at its best, where underground activity is to thank for active volcanoes and bubbling natural hot springs along the Shimabara Peninsula as well as the crystal clear waters of the Goto Islands off the west coast. Less well known than Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park, Nagasaki commemorates its own past at the Nagasaki Peace Park, which sits alongside the charming Meganebashi stone bridge and a mix of religious buildings with beautiful architecture, such as the Zen Buddhist Sofukuji Temple, the Confucian Shrine, and the Oura Christian Church.
