An aquarium adjoining Uminonakamichi Seaside Park. The facility was remodeled in 2017 around the theme of Kyushu’s ocean. The dolphin and seal pools are backed by Hakata Bay, giving visitors a chance to enjoy not only a fun show but also a beautiful view. The aquarium’s popular penguins can be viewed up close both on land and in the water, making it fun for children and adults alike. A five-minute walk from Umi-no-Nakamichi Station.

The most northerly of Kyushu island’s prefectures, Fukuoka comprises castle towns, seaside parks, and Hakata ramen, one of Japan’s most famous noodle dishes. Whether due to its good location or its unique charm, the prefecture’s capital, Fukuoka city, has been voted one of the most desirable places to live in the country - a close-knit community, a thriving food scene, and accessible nature combine for irresistibly laid-back city vibes.
