The exhibition hall, Machiya Hall, and souvenir shop are all connected, and the Machiya Hall was originally built in the mid-Meiji period (late 1800s) before it was moved and reconstructed in its current location. You can also see a demonstration of how Hakata fabric was traditionally woven. Under the guidance of experienced craftsmen, you can try your hand at painting ceramics (fee required) or Hakata fabric weaving yourself. It's just a five-minute walk from Gion Station.

    最寄りの駅は地下鉄の福岡空港駅ですが、そこから延々と歩きます。冬だったからよかったものの、夏だとたどり着く前に体力がなくなりますね。 最寄りのバス停からも、ものすごい階段を登らないとアクセスできず、足が悪い方に来るな、といっている様な施設です。 お手洗いも和式がほとんどですし、良い施設とは思えません。

    This theater is located a six-minute walk from JR Hakata Station. One of Kyushu's most noted Taishu Engeki venues, the theater holds matinee and evening performances nearly every day. Each performance is split into a play and a dance show. It is possible to watch just the show. In addition to 165 theater seats, there is also tatami mat seating that holds 35 people. Although they are unreserved seats, it is possible to reserve seats for an additional charge.
