    A museum with displays and hands-on exhibits which seeks to educate visitors about the environment. The museum presents the history of modern industrialization, how Kitakyushu City overcame past pollution problems, and the current state of the global environment in an easy-to-understand manner. The museum facilities themselves include a variety of environmentally-friendly measures. The Kitakyushu Environment Museum is an excellent place to learn more about environmental issues. The museum’s distinctive semicircle structure is a domed theater modeled after the Earth. A five-minute walk from Space World Station.

    スペースワールド駅から近いです。北九州の環境の歴史について無料で学べます。夏休みの宿題に丁度良いです。

    A concert hall in the Acros Fukuoka building. It features an authentic shoebox style music hall with a two-second reverb time even when completely occupied and is used for musical concerts including everything from world class full orchestras to chamber music, amateur recitals, and contests as well as academic conferences and lectures. It's easily accessible being just a five-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the subway Airport Line (Exit 16 is a direct link to the building) or a seven-minute walk from Exit 5 of the Tenjin Minami Station on the subway Nanakuma Line.

    友達に面白いよと勧められて、分館の和田誠展を見に行きました。本館は戸畑ですが、分館は小倉リバーウォーク内にあります。多才な方で、イラストレーター、グラフィックデザイナー、装丁家、映画監督、エッセイスト・・・彼の新たな一面も知り、一生についても知りました。

It also serves as the perfect base point for exploring the local area with exhibitions introducing the history of Yame Fukushima, a nationally designated Group of Traditional Buildings, as well as information regarding local events and the surrounding shops.

On display are materials related to the Arima clan and historical records regarding the Kurume Domain and the museum holds special themed exhibitions four times throughout the year. The museum is located adjacent to the Kurume Castle Ruins, former castle of the Arima clan.

    久留米城、笹山神社境内にある有馬氏の記念館。規模手としはかなり小規模。よほど有馬氏に興味がない限りはさほどに見応えはないと思われる。階段を上った受付横で見られるビデオも「ふ~ん」と言う程度のものだった。

    An art museum in Kurogawa, Asakura City. The museum uses the school building of an abandoned elementary school and alongside their permanent sculpture exhibitions they also hold special exhibitions five times a year as well as workshops in topics including art production, soba noodle making, and hands on farming experiences. In the museum you'll find the Memorial Sound Room where you can listen and compare recordings from their nearly 3000 strong record collection on gramophones dating back to the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods. There's also a cafe restaurant serving meals made with local ingredients.

    An art museum in Akizukinotori, Asakura City. Alongside Takatori-ware pottery, which boasts an over 400-year history dating back to the early Edo period, their collection includes passed down art objects, ancient pottery and remains of ancient kilns excavated from archeological sites alongside various other pieces of art. The museum is closed every winter. Across the street you'll find the Asakura City Akizuki Museum.

    秋月博物館のすぐ目の前にある美術館。旧武家屋敷のものであったと思われる立派な門に惹かれて入場したが、展示はすべて高取焼の茶碗。茶器に造詣の深い人なら面白いのだろうが、こちらは全くの素人なので、何がすごいのか今いち、よく分からなかったのが残念。ただし、展示室は心地良い空間で、他の見学者がいなかったので、ゆっくり鑑賞できた。

    A museum in Noko, Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City. Exhibits include materials related to the Chikuzen Gokaura Cargo Ships which were based out of Hakata Bay and delivered goods throughout the country during the Edo period as well as Edo period Confucian scholar and Meinohama native Nanmei Kamei. The museum also features a diorama with an overhead view of Nokonoshima Island and Hakata Bay and other exhibits. From the museum's location atop a hill on Nokonoshima Island you can enjoy a great view looking out over Hakata Bay.

    能古島に行かれた場合は立ち寄ってみてもいい場所だと思います。これだけのために行く必要は無いけれど、島で時間をつぶすにはちょうど良い場所です。この島自体、季節によって雰囲気はかわるけれど何度も行くような場所ではないかと思います。

    A museum in Okamoto, Kasuga City. The museum is located within Kasuga City Nakoku-no-Oka Historical Park, a part of the Suguokamoto Ruins. On display are historical materials excavated from archeological digs from around the city as well as local folk materials such as farming implements from the early Showa period. Other archeological finds including graves and dwellings are preserved and displayed throughout the park.

    県道49号や31号からアクセスもナビが分かり難いです。月曜OPENで入場無料ですが、イマイチコンセプトが不明。[国指定]無形民俗文化財「春日の婿押し」の展示はお見事。婿殿!とか突っ込みが入りそう。トゥースのフレーズが想起されます。15分一本勝負で退散しました。ムムムとか二の句は継げません。

    This museum is located in Mitsusawa, Ogori City. It exhibits cultural assets excavated from archeological sites in the prefecture. These include prefectural-designated historical sites such as the adjacent Mitsusawa Ruins as well as the ruins of the medieval Dazaifu Administrative Buildings. Visitors can learn about the history of Northern Kyushu starting from the Paleolithic period through a variety of exhibits. One such exhibit features relocated archeological remains displayed under a glass floor.

    小郡市に移転してまもないようで新しい建物です。最寄り駅は西鉄大牟田線の三国が丘駅、徒歩10分ほどです。入館料は無料です。あいにく一部の展示室が改修中でした。中庭からはいわゆるバックヤード、保存復元の作業室などをみることができるようになっています。文化財の研究施設としても充実している印象を受けました。

It includes cultural facilities including the Ishibashi Cultural Hall, Ishibashi Cultural Auditorium, Kurume City Art Museum, the Kurume City Central Public Library, and the Shojiro Ishibashi Memorial Museum. You can also experience the abundant nature of the four seasons in the Japanese garden, rose garden, or relaxing forested area.

    A shrine in Ishizaka 2-Chome, Dazaifu City. It's said that when Sugawara no Michizane was exiled to Dazaifu this shrine was transferred from Kyoto to provide for his protection. The large rocks on the grounds have long been believed to house the gods and a grouping of boulders still remain in the inner shrine.

    太宰府市のパワースポット。大宰府天満宮から20分ほど歩くでしょうか?住宅街に現れます。石段を登ると、 そこは、静寂の世界です。社務所は無人で、御朱印は、宮自宅にとのことですが、現金書留で、お願いをしたところ、一ヶ月後に御朱印をお送り頂きました。

    "The site of a castle which once belonged to the Arima, a samurai clan which ruled Kurume Domain for around 250 years during the Edo period. The fortress was also once known as Sasawara (""Bamboo Grass"") Castle or Sasayma Castle. Visitors can still view what remains of the castle's inner citadel. Nearby, visitors can find Sasayama Shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the former domain lord Arima Toyouji; and the Arima Memorial Museum, which displays arms and armor which once belonged to various lords who ruled the area. Yoshino cherries and hill cherries grow on the grounds, and in the spring visitors can enjoy the spectacular scenery their light pink blossoms create."

    A museum dedicated to literature located a 10-minute walk from JR Nishi-Kokura Station. The museum contains exhibits on numerous writers from the Kitakyushu area such as Ogai Mori and Fumiko Hayashi. The facility also regularly holds workshops, lectures, and other events. The museum sees not only many local visitors but literature fans from far and wide as well.

    北九州市立文学館に行ってみました。昔は北九州市立歴史博物館であったように思いますが、その頃は何回か訪れたことがあります。ステンドグラスがとても綺麗でした。北九州市内出身、謂れのある作家さんの多さに驚かされます。ミュージアムショップには今はなかなか入手出来ない作家さんの作品も入手出来ます。私は森鴎外の小倉日記などを購入しました。

    A historic site on Mt. Shiojiyama in the western region of Fukuoka prefecture. After losing the Battle of Hakusukinoe (Baekgang) on the Korean peninsula in 663 CE the Yamato Court built the fortress in 665 CE to defend against an invasion from a coalition of Tang Chinese and Silla Korean forces. The fortress was nearly eight kilometers in length and spread over what is now Umi Town, Dazaifu City, and Onojo City. Remnants of the embankments, stone walls, and buildings have been preserved and designated as a National Special Historic Site as important archeological remains with regards to Japan's ancient history.

    The treasure house of Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine. The treasure house stores and displays some 50 thousand items, including a sword once worn by Sugawara no Michizane; ancient manuscripts such as the Kan’en, a National Treasure; and artistic works. The history of the Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine as well as that of the nationwide Sugawara no Michizane faith is presented via video. Entrance fee required. A shared ticket granting entry to the Kyushu National Museum is also available.

    A museum in Koyanose 3-Chome. It's built over the former site of the Honjin, or hotel designated for use by lords, in Koyanose, a town that flourished as a post town along the Nagasaki Kaido Road. It houses the Michi-no-Kyodo Museum which displays materials related to Koyanose from the Edo period to the Showa period and the multi-purpose Koyanose-za Hall.

    友達と木屋瀬散歩をして、立ち寄りました。入場料は200円で、様々な資料をくれました。駐車場は少し歩いたところにあります。内部は撮影禁止です。季節がらお雛様たちが展示されており、木屋瀬の歴史などの展示物もありました。

    An art museum which collects and displays Japanese modern Western-style paintings, calligraphy, and ceramics. Donated to Kurume City by Shojiro Ishibashi, a locally born businessman who founded the Bridgestone Tire company (the predecessor of the Bridgestone Group), the museum is also sometimes referred to by its old name as the Ishibashi Museum of Art. Events such as special exhibitions, gallery talks, and workshops are also held in the museum.
