    A Shinto shrine sitting on Shika Island in Fukuoka City’s Higashi Ward. Enshrining the three gods of the sea called the Watatsumi Sanjin, the shrine has attracted faithful across Japan since ancient times as the head shrine of sea god worship. Located on a small hill, visitors can get a sweeping view of the Genkai Sea from the shrine’s grounds. The grounds are also filled with points of interest such as small Hokyoin pagodas designated Important Prefectural Tangible Cultural Properties as well as the first in a serious of stone monuments commemorating the poems of the Man’yoshu, Japan’s oldest collection of poetry. Shika Island is connected to the mainland, making it possible to visit the shrine by buss, but visitors can also take a municipal ferry from Bayside Place on Hakata Port.

The station has a market where visitors can purchase freshly picked, seasonal vegetables, a buffet style restaurant serving dishes made with local ingredients, and a variety of other facilities. In addition, there is a farm where visitors can experience farming activities and which holds regular events, attracting large numbers of people.

    田んぼに囲まれた道の駅で、農産物直売所のほか、レストラン、車中泊用エリアなどもあります。キノコ類が特産品ということで、しめじやエリンギなどがたくさん並んでいました。レストランはブッフェスタイルです。なお、テレビ番組「ざわつく金曜日」で「いちご大福」が放映されたとのことで、特売コーナーも設置されていました。

    Fukuoka Yanagawa-shi Mitsuhashimachi Takahatake 323-1
    A shrine in Takahatake, Mitsuhashi Town. The first lord of the Yanagawa Domain, Tachibana Muneshige, his wife Tachibana Gincho, and his father Bekki Dosetsu, are enshrined as deities. The shrine was relocated to its current location in 1826. In October they hold the three-day Onigie Fall Festival during which the Dorotsukudon accompanied parade float, designated as an intangible folk culture of the prefecture, is carried through the town.

    A subordinate shrine located on the grounds of the Mizuta Tenmangu shrine in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture. This Shinto shrine is dedicated to the love god Koi-no-Mikoto. Famous for providing worshippers luck in finding love and marriage, visitors can purchase koi-mikuji (fortune slips which will tell their love fortunes), koinoki-ema (votive tablets to offer in prayer for love), and heart shaped charms. The Koi Musubi Festival, a love festival, is held at the shrine on July 7, attracting large numbers of visitors.

    "Located approximately 25 minutes from the Maebaru Interchange on the Nishi-Kyushu Expressway, it has been selected of one of the Japan's 100 Best Beaches, and is one of the scenic spots representative of Itoshima City. It is also a scenic spot to see sunsets at the Genkai Pass, which has been selected as having one of the Japan Sunset Best 100, and it is also called ""Yuhi no Futamigaura"" (sunset Futamigaura) in contrast to ""Asahi no Ise Futamigaura"" (sunrise Ise Futamigaura). It is famous for the ""Meoto Iwa"" (Wedded Rocks,) which rise about 150 meters off the coast with a white torii gate, and you can see the sunset between the two rocks on the summer solstice.     굉장히 넓게 조성된 공원입니다. 웅대하고 아름다운 광경이 눈앞에 펼치집니다. 특히 양떼처럼 보이는 羊群原이라는 곳이 인상적입니다. 놀이기구도 있어 아이와 함께라는 즐거운 시간을 보낼수 있습니다. 주말에만 운영되는 열차(100엔)도 아이들에겐 즐거움입니다. 입장료는 무료이며, 주차비가 300엔 입니다.

The ferry takes around three minutes to make the trip from Kitatorihata-machi, Tobata Ward to Honmachi, Wakamatsu Ward across Dokai Bay and from the ship you can enjoy an amazing view of Wakato Ohashi Bridge from up close. You can also board chartered cruises (with reservation) to enjoy a more relaxed view of the scenery including their Evening Factory Appreciation Cruise.

    This was constructed in 1910 for the 13th Kyushu-Okinawa Association Exhibition and served as a place to entertain guests during the exhibition. The guest house is a two-story Western style wooden building based on the Meiji period’s French Renaissance style, and the main rooms such as the reception rooms have marble fireplaces and feature elegant interior designs with lavish reliefs. It was designated as a National Important Cultural Pin 1984. A portion of the building is open to the public and available to tour. (Admission required)

    This art museum is located an eight-minute walk from JR Mojiko Station. It has a modern and nostalgic exterior, does not have permanent exhibits, and holds exhibitions from five to six times a year centered on Japanese paintings and Chinese and Japanese ceramics. It also has the Idemitsu Founding History Room that follows the life of Idemitsu Sazo, the founder of Idemitsu Kosan who opened the museum. There are seven corners that introduce the footsteps of Idemitsu Sazo and his respect for life and dignity.

    ノーフォーク広場から門司港レトロ地区の方向に歩いて向かっている途中にありました。出光興産の創業者の方が集めていたコレクションを展示している美術館なのだそうで、陶磁器などの展示が多かったです。また創業者の生涯を紹介するスペースもありました。
