    This is a farm direct shop in Hidaka Village, Takaoka County, Kochi Prefecture offering fresh local produce, souvenirs, and more. The tourist information area also displays one of only three of the prefecture's replicas of the national treasure sword, Kondoso Kanto Tachi. They have a restaurant and a dining corner for some quick refreshment while out on a drive.

    This shop located in Minamikawazoe, Kochi City offers a range of products from Tsuno Town (also in Kochi Prefecture), which is part of the Shimanto River watershed. These include vegetables harvested fresh each morning in Tsuno, processed products, flowers, sundries, and more. At the adjacent café, visitors can enjoy a variety of items including beef steak sets and roast beef made with Tsunoyama beef and Tosa Wagyu, as well as sweets made with tea grown in Tsuno Town.

    This is one of my favorite places in kochi! You can enjoy great roasted green tea foods and sweets there!

    This shop wants to promote the fabulous flavors of Tosa. It sells products like fresh vegetables and seasonal fruit grown by local farmers. Their on-site eatery Gohanya offers meals that taste just like home-made. With cuisine made with local ingredients in a self-service format, it lets you enjoy the bounty of the mountains, sea, and community. Their specialty section has lots of limited availability items you won't find elsewhere and Tosa Treats expertly made by prefectural producers and manufacturers.

    This morning market is held in Otesuji, Kochi City. Held every Sunday except for New Year’s and during the Yosakoi Festival, the market’s history dates back more than 300 years to the Edo period. The approximately 400 shops that line the kilometer-long market offer a wide variety of items including produce such as fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, processed seafood products such as dried fish, Kochi specialties, and daily necessities. Visitors can also walk the market to try the many tasty items on offer, such as hiyashiame (a chilled sweet ginger drink).

    Umaji Village is famous for producing yuzu citron, and its Yuzu-no-Mori Farm Stand is housed in a former forest railroad station made of yanase cedar. Here they sell fruits and vegetables grown in Umaji Village as well as specialty products made of yuzu. They offer yuzu products like juice and seasoning, along with a seven-spice blend made with yuzu peel and a wide variety of soaps using yuzu essential oil. They also sell unique items made with yuzu juice like Umaji sushi and donuts.

    This is a fresh produce street market that is operated by the local ladies’ group, None Kitchen. On Saturday mornings, the street is lined with vegetables, fish and produce harvested locally. The most popular item at this market is the local specialty, Kokerazushi dish. In this Toyo Town, it has been customary to celebrate events with sawachi cuisine, food served on an elaborate large deli platters, and the first item placed on the platter was always kokerazushi. The number of families that still know how to make this sushi are dwindling, and this group is actively promoting this tradition. The kokerazushi is often sold out, but pre-orders are accepted by phone.

    This is a local produce and souvenir center adjoining the Nahari Station, the last station on the Gomen Nahari Line. Fresh vegetables, and other produce and Kochi products are sold on the first floor of the station. The fresh-picked vegetables harvested each morning are very reasonably priced, as the farmers themselves price them. There are many items that can only be found here, such as the local-brew unrefined sake, Doburoku, and the no-additive natural Nahari miso. The fig jam, and sherbet made with Nahari fruit are so well liked that customers come back for more. One their higher-end gift items are the yuzu-pork, and the Komegaoka region chicken products, which have the honor of being chosen as hometown-tax-payment thank you gifts.

Their fresh fruits and vegetables are known for being delicious.

About a 20-minute drive from the center of Kochi City, it is located in Nii district, Tosa City at the mouth of the Niyodo River, which is also a surfing mecca. It is also recommended as a place where you can rest and gather information.

The largest of Shikoku’s prefectures, Kochi is endowed with some of the island’s most exceptional sand beaches lining the Pacific Ocean, which narrows into the Shimanto-gawa, a huge river that stretches 196 kilometers into the prefecture, passing verdant mountains and hosting countless riverside activities.
