    You’ll find this shopping arcade in Nakatosa Town Takaoka County, Kochi Prefecture. It features everything from fresh local fish to processed goods, everyday dishes, vegetable and fruits, and more, making it a popular tourist destination. In addition to the morning catch, there are also fish caught in the afternoon, so many visitors come around 2 p.m. At the “Tanaka Fresh Fish” shop, you can purchase the fish on display and enjoy them along with rice and miso soup at the dining hall across the street. The “Kure Rice Bowl,” made from sashimi and household dishes purchased from participating market shops and served on rice in the dining hall, is another popular option.

    We visited Kure Taisho Market in February and it was very quiet, with a few shops open. Only the last shop was bustling and the restaurant in the opposite side cooks the fresh fishes from the shop...

    This confectionary is in Shimanto Town, Takaoka County, Kochi Prefecture. It's famous for its oddly hard sweet potato stick Imokenpi, made with lots of Shimanto aonori seaweed and black sesame. They shop also does product shows, meaning you can buy goods hot off the stove. They also make tarts and western pastries with sweet potatoes, and old-fashioned popped-grain snacks, called pongashi in Japanese.

    This bakery is said to be the founder of Kochi’s famous “Hat Bread,” located in Eikokuji Town, Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture. This bread was first made in 1955, has a castella cake dough on the top that looks like a hat. The store offers a range of breads ranging from classic breads to flavored breads and sweet breads that can be served as snacks. In the cafe space, you can eat bread bought in the shop and morning and lunch sets are also served.

    高知市の住宅街にあるパン屋さん、リンベルです。帽子パン発祥で有名なパン屋です。 店内は沢山の種類のパンや洋菓子、サンドイッチが並んでおり目移りします。結局色々買い込みましたが、帽子パン以外も美味しくリーズナブルでした。

There are many products containing yuzu in particular and there is a wide-range of different products. There is also an online shop so you can purchase products from Kochi Prefecture with ease.

    大丸高知近くです。高知県内のお土産関係がよくそろっていました。市内中心部で場所は便利です。家族がお茶が好きなので、あとでここで高知のお茶を買えばよかったかなと思いました。

    Sunriver Shimanto Bussankan, Shikoku’s largest local specialty products store, is located around 10 minutes’ walk from the Tosa Kuroshio Railway’s Nakamura Station. Its location in Shimanto City center means that store receives large numbers of both local shoppers and tourist visitors. There is an extensive product display area, featuring fresh fruits and vegetables supplied directly by farmers in the Shimanto area, dried fish and other processed fish products from fish caught in Tosa Bay, and a wide range of other local specialty products. One of the most popular confectionery products (so popular that the store sometimes runs out) is Daifuku rice cakes made with fresh cream and Shimanto’s Mitsuimo sweet potatoes. There is also a restaurant where visitors can enjoy seasonal dishes made with locally-sourced fresh vegetables and local fish species.

    This facility, lined with various restaurants and shops, was built in Tosashimizu City, Kochi Prefecture to promote its tourism and local fish products. One can taste the fishes fostered by the kuroshio currents, the fresh fish caught the same morning or evening, prepared as sashimi or donburi dishes. You can taste and purchase the fisherman’s Ryoshi Miso made from the recipe handed down for many years by fishermen. Various workshops and activities are offered including bonito braising, whale watching, and the “Be a Fisherman” experience.

    ここでソフトクリームを食べました。濃厚で美味しかったのですが、コーン付きで500円とちょっと価格は高め。カップは300円だったのでそちらでも良いかもしれません。

You can join in a kamaboko fish cake making workshop at the Kenkama Factory (not held during peak season). The workshop is for ages six and up; children ages six to eight must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Reservations need to be made at least three days in advance.

    美味しい出汁巻卵のお店です。懐かしく優しい味がするので何度食べても飽きがこないです。卵焼きとおにぎりを購入しました。ふっくら卵焼きは大きくて出汁が効いています。おにぎりも同じくふっくらしていて、ご飯が柔らかい。ほっこりしました。
