    Approximately six minutes on foot from Okaido Station. This store is located next to the Matsuyamajo Ropeway entrance, and sells miscellaneous goods. Renewed in November 2017, the walls are white, the displays are now split into an upper and lower level, creating a brighter atmosphere with products clearer view. The Ehime corner has aroma oils, Tobe-yaki potteries, rich mikan juice and such. To the left of the entrance, you’ll find Imabari towels neatly hung on a towel bar, so you can touch them and see which one you want. “Tsubaki -pink-” is a Matsuyama shop exclusive that is perfect as a souvenir or gift.

The red-brick building is a valuable historical edifice, as a renovation of a textile plant founded in 1950. The high-quality towels are made with materials carefully selected from all over the world, using Japan’s surpassing techniques and sensibility. Enjoy the area with its jazz music and tasteful towel accessories too.

    コンテックスという今治タオルの製造会社の工場直営ショップがあり、その一角にカフェが併設されています。お客さんのほとんどはタオル購入目当てでカフェを利用している人はほとんどいませんでしたが、ここのカフェで使われている水は、おいしい水を汲んできているとのことで単なるコーヒーとは違うとのことでした。建物も昔の工場を利用しており雰囲気が良いです。

Stretched across the northwest corner of Shikoku island, Ehime is a nature-rich prefecture boasting beautiful coastlines and a rural center where mountains play host to 26 of the Buddhist temples that make up the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Matsuyama is home to an original post-feudal castle as well as Dogo Onsen, one of the country’s oldest natural hot springs. The northern city of Imabari marks the entrance to the Shimano Kaido, a road that crosses six spectacular bridges and several islands, forming a route between Shikoku and mainland Honshu.
