"This roadside station is near Seto Ohashi Bridge in Seto Ohashi Memorial Park which bills itself as a ""Bridge Land of Water, Greenery, and Sun."" Its waterfront, large lawn area, and playscape make it popular with parents and kids alike. The Seto Ohashi Memorial Hall provides an accessible introduction to the history of bridge's construction, telling the whole story through images and moving models. They also sell items like Seto-ohashi postcards and bridge building crafts."

大変広い敷地を持つ公園です。園内には記念館や野外ホールなども有りますが、一番の見所は瀬戸大橋ですね。本当に巨大ですよ。

This art museum overlooks the Seto-ohashi Bridge and Hitsuishi-jima Island, the birthplace of Higashiyama Kai’s grandfather. It stores more than 270 lithographs donated by the Higashiyama family, and holds exhibitions of various themes. The view from the cafe overlooking the Seto Inland Sea and the Seto-ohashi Bridge is a magnificent.

MIMOCA (Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art) is an art museum in Marugame City. The museum was established to celebrate the artistic career of Genichiro Inokuma, an artist who grew up in the Marugame area and who later became a leading figure in international art circles, as well as to help reinvigorate culture and the arts in the Marugama region. MIMOCA’s location was chosen to make it easily accessible from the nearby railway station, giving it a more convenient location than more or less any other museum of its kind in Japan. The permanent exhibitions showcase the roughly 20,000 artworks that have been donated to the museum; in addition, several special exhibitions are held every year. The museum café has won acclaim for its “limited-edition” desserts, which are changed frequently to accompany MIMOCA’s special exhibitions.

Located in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, this is the largest theme park in the Chugoku and Shikoku region. The park plays host to a whole range of fun things to do including 22 rides and attractions, parades and 3D projection mapping shows. The Gokko Town area where visitors can have a go at 19 types of jobs, and the Oriental Trip where visitors can explore reproductions of famous sights in Asia and seasonal flowers are also popular. As well as light shows in the evening, for which they have won the National Illumination Awards three years running, they also have an outdoor pool open during the summer. A day-trip to the Hotel Reoma no Mori next door for an all-you-can-eat buffet and a hot spring bath is highly recommended.

This public park adjoins Takamatsu Airport. It is divided into four areas. There is the Adventure Zone, which is the largest grassed space in the prefecture, the Sky Zone where one can watch the airplanes taking off, and the Country Zone that has a water square and an events area, and the Port Building Zone that has play equipment for children. The park has visitors year round for its changing seasonal foliage, like spring sakura and autumnal colors. In the center of the park is a natural grass-skiing area with slopes as long as 200 meters. There are slopes for children to adults and from beginners to advanced skiers.

The Uchiwa no Minato Museum (POLCA) is a museum dedicated to the history of Marugame uchiwa (traditional paper fans). During the Edo period, it became customary to buy Marugame paper fans as souvenirs of a pilgrimage to the Kotohira Shrine, and fan-making became an important local industry in Marugame. The making of Marugame uchiwa fans has been designated a National Traditional Craft. The exhibits in POLCA include examples of different types of Marugame uchiwa fan dating from the Edo period to the present day, as well as the main regional fan styles from other parts of Japan, and mannequins showing the fan-making process, etc. There is also a demonstration area where visitors can see traditional fan-making techniques being demonstrated. POLCA is located around 15 minutes’ walk from JR Marugame Station.

Making fans was so enjoyable. We have seen many wonderful temples, gardens and castles and even been to Disney Tokyo. I have to say that for some reason this was one of the most memorable...

This aviation park is located a 30-minute drive from Takamatsu Airport. Jet aircraft and helicopters are displayed on its expansive grounds. From the park’s 360 degree, panoramic observatory, visitors can take in a view of the Sanuki Plain, Marugame Port, and distant Shido Bay. The runways of Takamatsu Airport are also visible below, and visitors can even watch as aircraft pass directly overhead after having just taken off from the airport. A Shinto shrine dedicated to aircraft is located in the back of the park, and many students about to take their high school or college entrance exam famously come here to pray that they will not “fall” (fail). The park also has a playground with a jungle gym and Tarzan rope, and on weekends the grounds bustle with families.

車がすれ違い出来ないほどの細くてクネクネした坂道を１キロメートルほど登った丘の上にあります。園内には自衛隊のT-2超音速高等練習機、セスナ、ヘリコプターの実機が展示されているほか、ジャングルジムやローラー滑り台などの遊具施設も整備されているので、家族連れで楽しめます。眼下には一直線に伸びた高松空港の滑走路が一望できるはずですが、雲がかかって見えませんでした。

Kagawa Sakaide-shi Honmachi 1-6-35

This doll museum is about an eight-minute walk from the Sakaide Station. The museum is operated and supported by the Kamada Soy Sauce Group, known for its dashi-shoyu. On display in this European style building, within the Kamada Shoyu main factory grounds are 23 differing fantastical ball-in-joint wooden dolls that the artist Simon Yotsuya created. In the Tan Ou Sou gallery, the building itself being a registered Tangible Cultural Property, one can find dolls tucked away in every possible location like the vault, the restroom, and the closets. The Ozawa Tsuyoshi Sanuki Museum of Soy Sauce Art, which displays brush paintings using soy sauce as a medium, and the Kamada Foundation Museum, which preserves and displays historical manuscripts and research works, both adjoin this museum. Many visitors tour all three museums together.

This tourist information center is just near the ticket gate inside the Sakaide Station on the JR Yosan Line. In addition to introducing areas of interest, accommodations, and local souvenirs, they provide rent-a-cycles, often the best way to fully enjoy downtown Sakaide. Ideal for riding and strolling, these bicycles can be rented by the day for a reasonable price just by providing some checkout information. If arriving by car, the parking under the station is free for 30 minutes.

坂出に行ったときに寄った場所のひとつです。子供向けの遊具などがあって、家族連れにはよい施設だと思います。実際、何組かの家族が遊んでいた姿が印象的でした。
Roadside Station Koibito no Seichi Utatzu Waterfront Park

This roadside station is situated on the coast of Utazu. The facilities on its 6.5 hectare grounds include a hotel, square, activity center, and walking path. From the park, visitors can enjoy spectacular scenery, including the Shiwaku Islands, said to be the most beautiful in Setonaikai National Park; the sun setting on the Seto Inland Sea; and the Great Seto Bridge lit up at night. Because of its superb location, the station’s park has also been designated a Lover's Sanctuary and is a popular date destination. A reconstructed naturally flooded saltpan for making salt is located in front of the station building, and visitors can take part in an activity here and actually try making salt themselves (advance reservation required).

Nakazu Banshoen was created in 1688 by the second Marugame feudal lord Kyogoku Takatoyo as part of his Nakatsu estate. The strolling garden has a pond side main structure and a tea room with a great view from the mezzanine floor stretching from the grounds to the sea. We also recommend the Kaifutei restaurant where you can dine in a relaxed atmosphere while gazing at the beautiful scenery of this Japanese garden.

This auto campground is built on the remains of terraced rice fields on the Kashihara Valley in Ayagawa Town, Ayauta Country, Kagawa Prefecture. In addition to car camping space, there are cottages and bungalows for a variety of outdoor fun. The cottages can hold up to eight guests. In summer they offer terrace barbecuing, while winter is perfect for fire-pit cooking.

This peninsula is a little less than two kilometers in area and is nestled at the foot of the world-class Seto Ohashi Bridge that connects Honshu and Shikoku. Formerly, this area was an island, hence called Shamijima that was about four kilometers offshore in Sakaide Harbor, but is now accessible by car after the landfill development. The natural environs have been carefully preserved by the local residents, so visitors can enjoy the various ruins, tombs, and memorials and verses of the Manyoshu collection dotting the area. The verses here, penned by the ancient poets, extol the special unique natural beauty of the Seto Island Sea.

Kagawa Areas
