- A Buddhist temple connected to the birth of the great priest Kobo Daishi and a part of the Shikoku 20 Bekkaku Temple Pilgrimage, Shikoku 36 Fudo Temple Pilgrimage, and the Sanuki Zodiac Pilgrimage. The temple is famous for always holding a homa ceremony to pray to Acala conducted by mountain Acala priests each month on the 28th, the day of Acala, from 10 a.m. It is said that all kinds of prayers and wishes are granted by coming in contact with the air purified by the ceremonial fires.

- This ancient Buddhist temple was founded in the distant Nara period by the great priest Gyoki. After the temple was relocated to its current location and rebuilt by Kobo Daishi in the Heian period, it suffered numerous accidental fires, but even today large numbers of worshippers come here. The temple is the 19th temple on the Shikoku 20 Bekkaku Temple Pilgrimage, and the temple's statue of Vaisravana created in the Heian period has been designated an Important Cultural Property.

- This Buddhist temple is the 17th temple on 88 sacred places on the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Records state the great monk Kobo Daishi stayed in this area when repair work was being conducted on Manno Lake, and later this temple was erected to protect the lake. The temple was abandoned after being set on fire during war but a portion of it was rebuilt by supporters in 1934. The temple's principal object of worship is a statue of Bhaisajyaguru.

- Approximately 20 minutes by car via Sakaide Kita Interchange, Takamatsu-danshi Interchange. This old temple sits on the hillside of Mt. Shiromine in Goshikidai—holy mount of Kagawa Prefecture. It is the 81st temple of the Shikoku 88-temple Pilgrimage, and its primary image is Senju Kannon, with protector gods from Eto zodiac venerated in their own respective halls. It is adjacent to the only Imperial mausoleum in Shikoku—Mt. Shiromine—so the Shiromine Daigongen (Sagamibo), one of Japan’s 8 Tengus, is also adored here. On the main path, you can enjoy the grand views of Seto and the Chigo-no-taki Waterfall—the tallest in the prefecture. Most of the buildings are Important Cultural Properties, and with cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangeas in summer, and colored leaves in fall, there is always something to see here.

- This Buddhist temple has a five tiered pagoda whose construction was completed in 2011. The temple is located on the site of the temple that became the home of the great monk and priest Honen after he was exiled to Shikoku at the age of 75. The Sanbutsudo main hall enshrines a statue of the Buddha lying down and represents his entering Nirvana; the statue is surrounded by 52 additional almost life-sized statues of people and animals.

- Asahisha Shrine is on the grounds of Konpiragu Shrine along the approach. It's been designated a Nationally Important Cultural Property. Built in 1837, the main hall is about 18 meters high and made entirely of zelkova wood. It features a double story zelkova hip-and-gable roof structure with copper sheeting. The upper eaves are carved with cirrus clouds, and the spaces between pillars and doors have wonderfully detailed carvings of people, wildlife, and plants.

- This Buddhist temple, dedicated to Bhaisajyaguru, is located 10 minutes from the Sakaide-kita Interchange. The 33rd temple on the Sanuki 33 Kannon Pilgrimage, the temple enshrines a thousand armed Kannon statue and a statue depicting Bhaisajyaguru, the principal object of worship. Just when the temple was founded is not clear, but records state it was established to enshrine a thousand armed Kannon statue personally carved by the great monk Kobo Daishi when he visited the area to preach. The temple later underwent a restoration in 868 and was given its current name and was used as a favored temple by Emperor Uda and later Ikoma Chikamasa and Matsudaira Yorishige when they were lords of the area.

- "Located in the center of the main island, this Shingon sect temple, nicknamed ""Yamadera-san"" by local residents, was founded in the Tempyo period (729-748), and its principal image of Sho-Kannon (the Goddess of Mercy) is a treasured treasure that is opened once every 33 years. The summer festival held on the third Sunday of July every year attracts many worshippers and tourists, and includes a hot water blessing and fire-walking rituals."

- This is a statue of Buddha, said to cure ailments, located about a 15-minute walk from the Zentsuji Station on the JR Dosan Line. This stone-carved figure is nestled in a section along the Zentsuji Akamonsuji shopping arcade stretching east from the Zentsuji Temple. It originally was located along the banks of the Yoshiwara-oike Pond, but in commemoration of the 1200th anniversary of Zentsuji Temple, the figure was moved from the Shichibutsu Yakushiji Temple in Yoshiwara district to this location. This Shiichibutuyakushi, when solicited, is said to improve the production of breast milk, and it is endearingly called Nyuyakushi. Ceremonial services are offered on the eighth of each month, on which day the arcade also holds the Akamon yokaichi market, which many people enjoy.

- This is a hiking trail that meanders around the backside of Zentsuji Temple, the birthplace of Saint Kobo Kukai. Along the trail are 88 Buddhist stone statues, arranged out from the Gochiin Temple in the Mt. Koshiki foothills. Modeled after Shikoku's eighty-eight sacred places, these statues signify each of the temples. The 1.6-kilometer trail with may undulations is great for getting in shape. This trail, said to have the same benefits as making the Shikoku island pilgrimage has various open areas, mini parks and an iris garden along the way. Many people not only go for the blessings of the pilgrimage, but also just to enjoy the seasonally changing foliage.

お寺の駐車場までの道のりは途中からとても狭いので注意です。 まず、駐車場横の鐘を鳴らしてからお参りするよう書かれていましたので、そのようにしてから鎖のついた崖を息を切らしながら登りました。 崖を登ったあと、洞窟から先は聖域で撮影禁止となっています。 本堂にお参りして、御朱印と指輪をいただいて帰りました。 服装、靴には気をつけてね行かれた方が良いです。

あの景色をみれば、行くまでの狭くて細い道路（対向車とはすれ違うのは困難であった）での苦労など消し飛びます。 ただ、どこからともなく現れた住職のおしゃべり（こちらの言うことは一切耳を貸さない）には閉口した。

善通寺境内に立つ塔頭の一つでした。「別格本山 観智院」の表札も掲げられ、子授けと安産の祈願に参拝する人が多いようで、妊婦さんの参拝も目立っていました。

志度寺参道左側に位置するお寺です。参拝時には工事が入っていたので写せませんでしたが願掛け風鈴というものが有り、綺麗に並んでいました。奈良時代の創建です。

こんぴらさんに参拝した帰路に旧金比羅大芝居「金丸座」を見学した後、立ち寄ったのが、このお寺だ。浅学ゆえ、お寺に権現様がいるのはよくわからないが、金比羅大権現を祭っているのはこのお寺だ。廃仏毀釈の影響で金比羅宮の祭神は大物主神となったが、その代わりのように松尾寺が金比羅大権現を祭っている。真言宗のお寺で、本堂には金比羅大権現のご真言まで飾ってあった。

大きなソテツがあるということで小豆島観光の際に訪れました ソテツ以外にも直木の真柏や、奥の境内に石組の立派な庭園があり、思いの外楽しめました
