    This udon noodle restaurant in Kagawa-cho, Takamatsu City in Kagawa Prefecture is famous and has been featured on popular TV programs. It is known as a restaurant that always has a queue outside on weekday lunchtimes, not to mention weekends and holidays. The udon noodles are made very early every morning from a special flour which is a blend of a several different types and salt water and their characteristics are the smooth surface and strong firmness. Each freshly-cooked noodle has a prominent edge which gives a firm, al dente texture. The most popular dish is the Kakiage Oroshi Udon topped with a giant mixed vegetable tempura.

    Nakano Udon School Kotohirako located at the approach to Kotohiragu which is known for its sea goddess is an interactive facility for preparing the authentic Sanuki udon noodles from scratch while getting instruction from a professional artisan. Freshly made udon noodles are finished as kamaage udon noodles and can be tasted on the spot. After the hands-on activity, you can receive a graduation certificate, a secret book of udon noodles, a rolling pin and a hanging scroll with an old map as a memento. In the souvenir section on the first floor, it sells an udon school set with which you can experience making udon noodles at home and specialty Shikoku products.

In the restaurant’s ground floor area, there is a large fishpond in the middle of the floor, with counter-style seating arranged round it. The second floor has quiet private rooms for entertaining, while the third floor has a banquet hall capable of accommodating a large number of guests; Tenkatsu is thus able to meet the needs of a wide variety of different customers. Teuchi Udon Hayuka is renowned for its thick, full-bodied, firm-textured noodles. The menu includes Kake Udon (traditional style Udon noodles in a simple broth), Zaru Udon (Udon noodles served on a bamboo tray), and Bukkake Udon (chilled Udon noodles served with a soy sauce based broth); diners can choose between two types of Bukkake Udon, one served with a mild-tasting broth and the other with a more strongly-flavored broth.     季節毎に美味しそうなケーキがあるので近くに行く際にはよく行っています。今回は少し時間もあったため2階のカフェを利用しました。たまたまなのか、結構大きな声で話ししているグループが2組いました。1組はマスクしての会話でしたが、もう一組はマスク無し。急いで食べて帰りました。

The spacious main restaurant grounds include a Japanese courtyard, and the establishment offers comfortable Japanese tatami mat and counter seating. The expansive menu includes simple udon noodles like kake udon noodles in broth and yudame udon served in hot water, as well as conger eel tempura (only offered on Sundays and holidays); and udon sukiyaki, a Gennai specialty.

    This udon shop can be found in Kagawa Town, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, and it is known nationwide for its owner, “Granny Rumi.” Her grandchild currently runs the shop, which offers the same handmade udon taste as always. Orders are handled by a self-serve system in which patrons divide into “kama-tama/kama-nuki” and “hot/cold/zaru” noodle lines. You can enjoy the noodles in the simple soup stock and soy sauce broth, and they’re delicious with shichimi spice as well. There are several varieties of tempura toppings, and rice balls, sushi, and more are for sale as well.

    This udon restaurant is located in Manno Town in Nakatado County, Kagawa Prefecture and is said to be the first restaurant to start serving “soy sauce udon.” When you order soy sauce udon, the first things brought to the table are a large radish and a surigane grating dish. You grate the radish yourself and use it to top the udon, then pour on the soy sauce. The plump, springy noodles, sweet soy sauce, and juicy radish combine to produce a refreshing taste.

    元祖しょうゆうどんで有名なお店。 村上春樹さんのエッセイにも登場したこちらのお店。 自分で大根をおろしてうどんにかけるのが名物。 私はその『しょうゆうどん』を注文。 普段だったら何故自分で大根をおろさなければいけないのかとなるところですが、 こちらのお店ではエンターテイメントとして楽しめてしまうのが不思議です。 肝心の味の方もコシがしっかりあって、さっぱり味の美味しいうどんです。

    Tamura Udon is located at the intersection of Prefectual Route 17 and 183 north of Takinomiya Tenmangu Shrine. It looks like a small private house but is actually a popular noodle shop and there can be long lines at peak times. Its most popular dish is plain kake udon. The homemade noodles using locally sourced flour are firm and fresh, and the locals love it too. You can choose your own toppings which include standards such as boiled egg or tempura and unexpected items such as konbu seaweed tempura.

    Located in the Honmura district of Naoshima Town, Cafe Salon Nakaoku is a secluded, home-like café in a refurbished traditional farmhouse. The café owner is a native-born Naoshima islander. The café is renowned for its coffee, particularly its original-blend coffees with a “fruity” flavor that are the house specialty, but there is also a wide range of alcoholic beverages available. Cafe Salon Nakoku is located about three minutes’ walk from Minamidera with its Art House Project, in which a vacant house has been repurposed as an art museum. The café is a great place to unwind in a relaxing atmosphere.

    The setting and atmosphere alone were worth it. The food and service just as good. Best restaurant we visited in Naoshima and probably best in Japan so far

    Aisunao is a Japanese restaurant located in a converted traditional house (built around 80 years ago) in the Honmura district of Naoshima Town. The restaurant is easily recognized by the blue entrance curtain featuring a stylized and very cute depiction of a rice bowl. The house specials include a wide range of flavorful dishes featuring organically-grown unpolished rice (with a pleasantly chewy consistency) and vegetables. Many of the dishes served here are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and the restaurant also offers a range of vegan-friendly desserts made without eggs or dairy products.

    Located on Lion Avenue roughly 10 minutes’ walk from the Kotoden railway company’s Kataharamachi Station, Kawafuku is a long-established Sanuki Udon Noodles restaurant. The restaurant has been in existence since 1950. Kawafuku is particularly famous as the first restaurant to sell zarudon (chilled Udon noodles), which is still a popular item on the menu, at any time of year. The Kawafuku flagship store stays open until midnight.

    Just found it by random and it was really good. I really love the curry udon. Price was great too and very easy to access.

Other very popular menu selections include the kake udon noodles in broth, and broth covered bukkake udon noodles; and side dishes like croquettes and tempura.

    雰囲気のある茶屋みたいなところでところてんが楽しめます。 庭と白い池、そこに鯉と7月中旬に来たのであじさいが咲いていました。 ところてんはオーダー後目の前で切ってくれます。 くずもち風ところてんもあんみつも優しい甘みでおいしかった!! 雰囲気も綺麗でサイコーですね!!おすすめです!!!!
