    This kamaboko (a type of processed seafood) shop founded in 1910 carries a full range of popular products. They are best known for their high-grade kamaboko, which are carefully crafted one at a time with the best ingredients. Fine adjustments are made to the kamaboko to match the temperature and weather that day. Their take chikuwa, a local variant of chikuwa fish cake served on a bamboo stick, a wide variety of fried kamaboko, and fish katsu, a breaded and fried fish cake, have high reputation. Their fish katsu has even been selected by ANA for meal services on international flights.

    Toyota Shoten is a shop that sells a wide range of delicious local products from Tokushima Prefecture, including full-bodied Naruto Wakame seaweed and sweet-tasting Naruto Kintoki sweet potatoes. The hand-made dried fish, which is produced in-house, is especially popular. It is made using fish caught locally, which have developed particularly lithe bodies as a result of having to swim in the fierce Naruto whirlpools; each fish is prepared and dried with painstaking attention to detail. Besides sea-bream, barracuda, horse mackerel, chub mackerel and golden cuttlefish, Toyota Shoten also sells dried fish made from a variety of other seasonal fish species. Eat-in service is available; visitors can ask to have fish that they have just purchased in the shop cooked for them on the premises.

    "This Japanese / Western confectionery store is located in the basement of the Clement Plaza annexed to JR Tokushima Station. It is famous for its sweet potato confectionery, made using Kintoki sweet potato, a specialty of Tokushima. The mild, sweet tasting potato sweets are popular as a take home gift from the area. Due to its popularity, it was recognized as an ""Awa specialty"", and has placed first place in the 25th National Confectionery Exposition. Also popular with tourists is the rare cheese potato and Awa-no-karinto (deep-fried sweet potato). The shop also sells pound cakes and roll cakes that are Halal certified."

    Atelier Paysanne is a Western-style confectionary located between the Itano Interchange on the Takamatsu Expressway and JR Awa-Kawabata Station. This shop takes great care with its ingredients and uses no leavening agents or preservatives. Its cakes are unique for using Awa Wasanbon Sugar, and its roll cakes are especially well-liked for their moist sweetness. Its cream puffs and cheesecake have also received high marks from customers. Its doughnuts, which have locally grown seasonal fruit mixed into the batter, make especially good souvenirs.

    The Hallelujah Sweets Kitchen, known for its Tokushima Prefecture specialty and Kintoki sweet potato confections, is run by the confectionery company Hallelujah. Confectionery production can be observed through a glass adjoining the factory to the shop. You can enjoy freshly made sweets at the Blue Note Cafe or join in a sweets making workshop (reservations needed), popular with families.

    何度も訪れたスイーツ屋さん、と、云うよりも、土産物屋さんです。しかも、買いたい物も食べたい物もな-んにも無い。仮に全国旅行支援の「押し売りクーポン」がなければ、絶対に行かない場所。売っているものは四国ならどこにでも売っている代わり映えしない物ばかり。個人の旅なら再訪はあり得ません。
