- "This is the factory for ""Ouchi Dolls"" that have been popular in Yamaguchi since long ago. The company manufactures and sells ""Ouchi Dolls,"" a traditional craft that is said to have been born from the heartwarming story of Hiroyo Ouchi and his wife, the founder of the Ouchi family's revival, as well as Ouchi-nuri lacquerware, which tells the story of the past of Yamaguchi, said to be the Kyoto of the west. Ouchi-nuri, a traditional technique using lacquer, was born as a symbol of luxurious and gorgeous Ouchi culture. It is characterized by a color of lacquer called ""Ouchi vermilion,"" which is neither red nor brown, and the Ouchi rhombus, the family crest of the Ouchi family, is decorated on it. In the workshop inside the store, you can observe the decoration process of Ouchi lacquerware."
