- Akiyoshidai, in the eastern part of Mine City in Yamaguchi Prefecture, is home to the “Akiyoshido,” Japan’s greatest limestone cave. The entrance to the cave has a height of 24 meters and a width of eight meters, and the cave’s deepest point is about 200 meters below the surface. There are plenty of sights to see such as the giant Golden Pillar, a travertine pillar with a height of approximately 15 meters, and the Hundred Saucers, which look like terraced rice-fields. The interior of the cave stretches for nearly 10 kilometers, but the sightseeing path only ventures to about one kilometer into the cave. The temperature remains stable at nearly 17°C throughout the year, and a wide range of ages can comfortably tour the cave.

- This is a small island with a circumference of 17.1 kilometers and is located in the Sea of Japan and is part of Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The 1780 meter long Tsunoshima Ohashi Bridge is suspended between Tsunoshima Island and the mainland. Tsunoshima Lighthouse is located at Yumega Cape which is situated in the north-west of the island, and it stands at a height of 29.6 meters. It is possible to climb up to the landing of the spiral staircase. In addition, Yumesakinami Park which is adjacent to Tsunoshima Lighthouse park is a great scenic spot where you can see the evening sun setting in the Sea of Japan.

- This cape of the westernmost part of Honshu in Shimonoseki City has a 500ーmeter promenade with an observation deck, which you can use to look over the expansive ocean and islands. Many tourists come to see the lighthouse of the northernmost part of the Seto Inland Sea near the cape, as well as the 1,000-year-old Kawatana no Kusu no Mori (a single camphor tree that looks like a forest).

- An uninhabited island in Shimonoseki, whose official name is Funashima Island. The entire island is flat, and on the east coast there is a promenade where you can watch ships going through the Kanmon Straits. A large part of the island is its artificial beach and park. This island is also known as the location for a duel between Musashi MIYAMOTO and Kojiro SASAKI in 1612.

One of the main sights of the Kita-Nagato Kaigan Quasi-National Park, this area is also a national Place of Scenic Beauty and a registered Natural Monument. The interior of the bay features a quiet, spreading inlet, while outside there are towering cliff faces, for truly impressive scenery. This landscape was shaped by volcanic activity in the time of dinosaurs, and you can see ""byobu iwa"" screen rocks, the layers of earth that first piled on the Sea of Japan, and hornfels formed by the action of magma melting layers of gabbro rock, all of which you can see from a local fishing boat piloted by a working fisherman."

- An expansive grass-covered plain on a hill in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture 333 meters above sea level. A popular camping destination where you can enjoy the wonders of nature as well, in summer boats burning fires to lure fish at night create a beautiful scene on the ocean waters. - "The straits separating Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi Prefecture from Kitakyushu City in Fukuoka Prefecture. Kanmon gets its name from the ""seki"" (also read as ""kan"") in Shimonoseki and the ""mon"" in Monji in Kitakyushu City. Kanmon tunnel passes under the sea, while there is also Kanmon Bridge over an express highway. It is also known for a battle on Ganryujima Island between Musashi MIYAMOTO and Kojiro SASAKI in 1612."

- A lake at Suetakegawa Dam in Kudamatsu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Lake Beisenko park is maintained on the shore and is where a variety of regular events, including the Lake Beisenko Summer Jamboree, are held. It is also known as a famous fishing spot which attracts many visitors with their black bass.

- This 300-meter-tall gorge in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture is one of the three largest gorges in Nishi-Chugoku Sanchi Quasi-National Park. The gorge splits into Inumodoshi Gorge and Ryugatake Gorge, with many waterfalls lining the Inumodoshi Gorge trail and strangely shaped rocks and grottos along Ryugatake Gorge. The gorge is also used for cultivating wasabi as well as drinking water because of its abundant springs. It was selected as one of Japan's 100 remarkable waters with a wide variety of flora and fauna.

- A 12-kilometer gorge in Yamaguchi City. It is known for its beautiful array of unique rocks, waterfalls and abysses. There is a promenade around the gorge which attracts many hikers and trekkers. Visitors can enjoy cherry blossom in spring and autumn foliage in autumn, and this place is also visited as summer resorts.

- Rice paddies in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture with roughly 600 hectares of terraced rice paddy fields, around the Mukatsuku Peninsula on the westmost part of northwest Honshu. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries selected this as one of the 100 Great Terraced Rice Fields of Japan. You can look down on the Sea of Japan from the rice paddies with the hills sloping down to the coast.

- Myojin Pond (Myojinike)

- The Myojin Pond is located on the east foot of Mt. Kasayama. It was created when a land bridge was formed by a sandbank between Mt. Kasayama and the mainland, and the body of water remaining after the split was filled and became Myojin Pond. It consists of three parts, “oike” (large pond), “nakano-ike” (middle pond) and the “okuno-ike” (inner pond), and as it is connected with the open sea through the gap between the mass of lava rock, you can see the tide as it rises and falls. The lake was called “Benten lake” as Benzaiten (the god of wealth) was enshrined on the northern side of the pond, and it was also called “the teahouse lake” as the feudal lord’s tea room was also built in this picturesque place.

- "This lake is located in Sukishimoda, Kobayashi City. This dam lake was formed along the Honjo River by the Ryonan Dam. The lake offers activities such as fishing, kayaking and pleasure boating. In addition, on the west side of the lake, there is Sukinotaki Falls (also known as Mamako Falls), which is known as a scenic spot, and the leisure facility ""Sukimuland"" that has a campsite, accommodation facilities and hot spring. You can watch the scenery of the lake and waterfall from the large suspension bridge over the lake."

- This waterfall is located along the Futashika River, a tributary of the Nishiki River, in Futashika, Iwakuni City. The gorge along the river has seven waterfalls including Umezu Falls, Ninotaki Falls, Hiryu Falls, and Kirikakure Falls, which are collectively referred to as the Futashika Falls. Legend has it that in Heian period a man known as Umezu Chujo Kiyokage, having been tasked with exterminating a two-headed deer that appeared on Kyoto's Mt. Hiei, tracked the beast to this area, where he finally destroyed it. Visitors can enjoy activities such as camping and walking the promenade that has been built in the area.

- Ichino Saka River

- This river is part of the Fushinogawa River system. It’s known as the resemblance to Kyoto's Kamogawa River and the west side of city around the river called “Nishi no Miyako (western city) by city's planning in Muromachi era. The river is lined with about 200 Yoshino cherry trees, making it a famous local cherry blossom viewing spot. Every year from late May through early June, the area is filled with the National Natural Monument Genji fireflies, bringing crowds of observers.

Located on the northeast side of Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park, you can inspect the cave and see mysterious natural phenomenon like the Entrance to Hell, Staggering Aisle, and Shishi-iwa ""lion"" rock. Inside the cave, the guides can supply music and guidance during your exploration via the MAG-CEIVER system."

- Kagekiyo Cave

- This solution cave is in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Legend says that the Heike general Taira no Kagekiyo hid here after the Battle of Dan-no-Ura. Visitors can check the ceiling and walls contains the fossils for fusulinida shells, coral, and seaweed, and enjoy the art of nature. On a separate course, there is an exploration course where visitors can look for fossils, and creatures of the dark.

- Ryugu no Shiofuki (The Dragon Spout)

- A National Natural Monument and Place of Scenic Beauty located in Yuyatsuo, Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. When the wind blows from the north and makes the seas here choppy, the waves are pushed into a small hole in the cliff face one meter tall and 20 centimeters wide, causing water to shoot into the air like a Spout. The Spout can reach heights of up to 30 meters, creating a powerful spectacle resembling a dragon shooting into the sky. A path, covered with 123 red torii gates, leads from the Spout up a hill to Motonosumi Inari Shrine. This area is popular in part because of the gorgeous scenery created by the contrast of the torii gates and the ocean.
