A long-standing anagomeshi (grilled conger eel over rice) restaurant established in 1901 located a two minute walk from Miyajimaguchi Station. The restaurant’s famed anagomeshi features fresh-grilled conger eel (anago) piled tightly packed on top of a bed of rice cooked with a broth made from conger eel bones. This long-selling favorite was originally created to offer as a bento box lunch sold in front of the nearby train station when the restaurant was founded. The restaurant is also famous for the lines of customers waiting to eat inside that constantly form out its door. Customers eating in can enjoy flavors and dishes differing from those offered for bento box lunches, such as piping hot, fresh-made anagomeshi and shirayaki conger eel grilled without seasoning. Bento box lunches can be reserved. No reservations are accepted for the restaurants sit-down space.

An oyster restaurant located in the Omotesando Shotengai shopping arcade in Miyajima Town, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Kakiya is renowned for its inexpensive oyster dishes made with quality oysters raised off of Miyajima as well as Jigozen oysters, a Hiroshima brand oyster variety. The restaurant’s signature menu item is its yakigaki oysters grilled to perfection at the front of the restaurant by seasoned veterans. No special seasoning is added to these vaunted gems which fill the mouth with the flavor of sea salt and the inherent deliciousness of the oyster meat. Kakiya’s kakimeshi oysters over rice and creamy, milky raw oysters are also popular choices. The interior is decorated in a modern, Japanese style.

Here you can enjoy freshly grilled, piping hot, meaty oysters until your heart’s content. The restaurant itself is rather small with a number of chairs for seating. They also sell and deliver oysters too.

Katsura is a “fishermen’s cuisine” restaurant and bed-and-breakfast (B&B) located on Prefectural Route 287 in Miyazakari, Kamagari Town, Kure City. Katsura serves dishes made from the fish that can be seen swimming in the restaurant’s fish-tanks (which are local fish species freshly-caught that same morning), including sashimi, boiled fish, fried fish, exciting Funamori (sashimi served on a boat-shaped platter), etc. Guest rooms are located in the main building and in the annex; Western-style guest rooms are available in the main building. Opened in 2006, the Restaurant 14th Moon is, a direct wholesaler of an oyster producer, located in Oyster Harbor, that has a compound facility of oyster farming, processing and selling. The “kaki-zukushi set” and “self yaki-kaki kaki-komachi” -with live “kaki komachi” (a brand of oyster only available in Hiroshima) is grilled shell and all-come highly recommended, but the limited-time all-you-can-eat offer is quite enticing as well. This fish market was just remodeled in 2019. A wholesale shop sells fresh-caught seafood on the first floor, while a restaurant on the second floor serves up delicious cuisine using the freshest seafood. The restaurant, operated by the chairwoman in charge of the women’s department of the local fishery cooperative association, serves a daily sashimi combo meal which comes with fresh sashimi, rice, miso soup, and a side dish (note that the sashimi variety will vary depending on the season and day). During lunchtime, the restaurant bustles with local residents and tourists, and is so popular it often sells out early.

This Japanese restaurant is situated on the Shiomachi Shopping Street connecting Setoda Port and the Kousanji Temple. Here customers can enjoy conger eel, octopus, and other fresh seafood delights from the Seto Inland Sea. Conger eels are caught across Japan, but the conger eels which grow in the plankton-rich Seto Inland Sea are exceptionally fat and delicious. The restaurant takes particular pride in its exquisite conger eel hako sushi (box-pressed sushi), made with a secret recipe sauce passed down through the generations; this delicious sushi is also available for takeout. Inside the restaurant, there is a fish preserve filled with healthy conger eels swimming around.

あなご丼とたこ丼を頼みました。あなごは歯ごたえがあり、ふわふわ柔らかというよりぷりぷりでした。たこはとっても柔らかくて食べやすかったです。味もちょうどよく、食べやすかったです。お味噌汁は関東の人にはちょっぴりちょっぴり濃いなぁと感じるかもしれません。12時を過ぎるとお客さんが続々と来ていたので、少し前に行った方がいいかもしれません。

美味しい牡蠣が1年を通してずっと食べられるそうです。焼き方や食べごろなど教えてくれます。軍手やエプロンなども貸してくれます。炭で焼くので灰が少し気になりますが、牡蠣が相殺してくれました。美味しかったです。駐車場っぽい駐車場は近くになかったので路肩？に止めました。一品料理も頼めます。

広島駅の中にある店舗に行きました。ランチか1200円でお寿司8巻をカウンターで少しずつ握って頂きました。そして穴子や白身魚が入った具沢山の茶碗蒸し、赤出し、小鉢が付いて大満足です。どれも美味しくまた広島に来たら食べたいです。

会社のレクリエーションで利用しました。予算がかなりあったので、フルコースをいただきました。お造り・焼き物・しゃぶしゃぶなど、どれも美味しかったです。お土産もカニの巻き寿司とカニ尽くしいつも行けるわけではありませんが、たまの贅沢としてカニを堪能できました♪
