This shrine is located in Ichinomiya, Tsuyama City. Said to have been built in 707, it is dedicated to Kagamitsukuri no Kami (god of mirror-making). It has been devoutly worshipped since long ago as the highest ranked temple in Mimasaka Province, and was rebuilt by Izumo castle lord Amago Haruhisa after it burned down in the 16th century. The main shrine is a nationally-designated important cultural property.

岡山にある奈良時代に創建された美作国一宮です。最初に貫の出ていないこの神社独特の鳥居があります。参道を進んでいくと、津山城から明治時代に移された神門があります。本殿は戦国時代に戦乱で焼失し、尼子氏が再建したもので、重要文化財です。一宮らしい立派な神社でした。

Okayama Tsuyama-shi Sange 98-1

A 10-minute walk from JR Tsuyama Station. Located at the entrance to Tsuyama Castle, this natural history museum features stuffed animals from every corner of the globe. Their permanent exhibit features nearly 20,000 exhibits of stuffed animals, fossils, minerals, shells, insects, and human specimens spread throughout 13 exhibition rooms. They have nearly 800 stuffed animals including some in danger of extinction such as the golden snub-nosed monkey, low-land gorilla, and the Amur leopard. There are a lot of animals that are no longer obtainable. The organs of Morimoto Keizo, the founder of the museum, are also on display as per his will.

The main building, Fureai no Yakata, contains a shop that sells local products, a restaurant, a cafe, an information desk, and a seminar room, but there are other facilities as well: a craft studio, a food processing plant that sells Mochi and rice crackers, and a park-like green space.

国道53号線を岡山から津山に向かいました。途中トイレ休憩で立ち寄りましたが、トイレは道路を挟んで東の施設側と西側の両方にあります。国道で交通量が多いので道路を横断するときは車に注意が必要です。久米南町は河童伝説があるらしく施設には河童の像や土産物があります。小さなレストランがあり、「ゆず」を使ったメニューがあります。

A three-minute walk from the Yunogo Onsen-shimo bus stop on the Uno Bus leaving from Okayama Station. This toy and music box museum celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2010. The museum displays around 600 traditional toys such as European building blocks, as well as 30 music boxes and mechanical dolls made more than a century ago. Toy classes are held in the museum's studio space, and visitors can experience the fun of creating as well as the fun of playing with toys. This wooden school building, constructed in 1907, has been designated a National Important Cultural Property as a representative example of school construction in the later Meiji period (1868–1912). Nowadays, it is open to the public as a facility of the cultural facility Kuse Espace Land, but it is also used as a location for filmmaking. A 10-minute drive from the Tsuyama Interchange on the Chugoku Expressway. This museum displays materials related to the scholars of the Tsuyama Domain who researched Western Learning from the fall of the Edo period throughout the Meiji and Taisho periods and used that learning to create the foundation of a modern nation. The permanent exhibit is split into three themes; Door to Science Hidden Within the Body, Eyes Open to the World, and Modernization of Japan and Western Scholars of Tsuyama, and will let you understand the progression of Tsuyama's Western Studies throughout the years. The exhibits also include a first edition of the Kaitai Shinso medical text and an elaborate wooden replica skeleton.

A 10-minute drive from the Tsuyama Interchange on the Chugoku Expressway. A townhouse from the late Edo period townhouses located in the Joto Townscape Preservation District. This is the former residence of the Kajimura family who as the Fudamoto (present day banks) issued the Hansatsu script (Currency that could oldy be used within the domain) on order of the Tsuyama Domain. With the main building having been built during the late Edo period, the west-side room during the Meiji period, the western-style two-story building to the north during the Taisho period, and the storehouse during the early Showa period, how lifestyles changed with the ages is well preserved with the residence. The house is a registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan and the garden is a Registered Monument of Japan. There is no charge to tour the house.

A 10-minute drive from Tsuyama Interchange on the Chugoku Expressway. This free to access service area is a restored Edo period townhouse with eye-catching classic white walls and a fire lookout tower. Built in 1993 the original townhouse on this site was used for educational services in roles including a primary school, the Okayama Prefectural Tsuyama Handicraft Vocational School, a secondary school, and a preschool. It's a two-story wood constructed building with plastered Namako patterned walls, latticed windows, and a roasted cedar exterior. The interior reproduces the elegance of an Edo period townhouse. Behind the house is the Danjiri Exhibition Hall in which four Danjiri portable shrines that have been designated Cultural Properties of the Prefecture are displayed.

This gallery is about a 10-minute walk from JR Chugoku-Katsuyama Station. It uses the well-preserved manor of Watanabe Tobe, a retainer who served Miura Akitsugu. This upper class warrior's home has been here for some 200 years, and is also known as Watanabe-tei. Beyond the Nagayamon gate you'll find the main hall and earthen-walled warehouses. In 1986, the warehouses were renovated to repair deterioration with age and now one is used as a gallery. It displays armor, clothing, old documents, and other materials related to the samurai family.

This biking and walking trail is in the Hiruzen area of Maniwa City. With a total length of 30 kilometers, it seems to wrap around Mt. Hiruzen. The scenery is spectacular, with views of the Hiruzen Three Peaks, Mt. Daisen, and more, for an easy taste of nature. There are bicycle rental offices, and you can even try a tandem bicycle for two limited to the Hiruzen Heights Bicycle Trail. The Roadside Station Hiruzen Kogen also offers children's bicycle rentals, so it's recommended for families.
