    Roadside Station Mt. Kuroi Green Park is located along the Okayama Blue Line in Mushiage, Oku-cho, Setouchi City. It offers a farmers’ market and a gallery, as well as direct outlet shops for Japan Agricultural Cooperatives and one that sells fresh fish. There is even a full-scale on-road course for radio-controlled car in this park. It is well known as a good place to view cherry blossoms, and in the summer, the children’s pool is open. From mid October to December, visitors can pick mikan (Mandarin oranges).

Besides a restaurant and banquet hall offering menu items such as seasonal courses, special chanpon (hearty noodle dish with pork, seafood and vegetables) and the Okayama specialty of demiglace pork cutlet rice bowls, there is a shopping center with Okayama specialty products such as seasonal fruits, and the “Pan no Yakata” that sells freshly baked bread.

    建物は大きいですが、大部分は団体向けの宴会場です。 団体でない方が食事するスペースは、土産屋が隣接しており、横を団体がうろうろしており、落ち着いて食事することはできないかも。 お値段・味はまぁまぁです。

Overshadowed by Hiroshima to the west and the Kansai region to the east, Okayama is an easy spot to miss but a nature-rich gem where the Seto Inland Sea laps at its toes and peach and grape farms complete its interior. One of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, Koraku-en in Okayama city is well worth a visit before progressing to Kurashiki, where preserved wooden Edo buildings line the picturesque canal.
