- This is a railway along the banks of Lake Shinji that plays an essential role as a lifestyle route for local people by connecting Matsue, Hirata, Izumo and Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine. It also plays a role as a railway carrying pilgrims going to worship to Izumo Grand Taisha Shrine and Ichibata Yakushi Temple. Train cars with local character exterior wraps are becoming popular with tourists as a train of good fortune.

- Tebikigaoka Park is located about five kilometers west of Roadside Station Kirara Taki on National Route 9. Overlooking the Sea of Japan, there is a roller slide, athletic equipment, and a kids' play area. The community park is crowded with many families on weekends. The adjacent Kazenoko Learning Center was built in conjunction with the introduction of wind power generation to Taki Town. They hold various experiential programs that appeal to everyone from kids to adults including hand crafting workshops and nature walks.

国道9号線をJR駅の横から上がった小高い丘の上に公園が有りました。何の気なしに大田からの仕事帰りに初めて寄ってみました。日本海の眺めが良かったです。

- Koryo-cho Potato Farm
- Travel / Tourism
- Shimane Izumo-shi Koryocho
- A tourist farm about 10 minutes from the Izumo Interchange on the San'in Expressway. Overlooking Lake Jinzai, it offers the chance to experience harvesting Nishihama-imo potatoes, a Koryo-cho specialty. It's open from early September to early November annually. Visitors take all the sweet Nishihama-imo potatoes they harvest home with them. Since they offer hands-on experience in growing and handling agricultural products, many organizations use it for events involving small groups, children, etc. Reservations are required, so be sure to contact the farm in advance.

Shimane Areas
What Shimane prefecture lacks in size and population, it makes up for in scenery and ancient mythology. Izumo-taisha, in the middle of the prefecture, is said to be Japan’s oldest Shinto shrine, where stories that delve into the creation of the Japanese race have been passed down over centuries. The 180 Oki Islands, a 40-minute ferry ride north of Sakaiminato, offer an undiscovered paradise well off the beaten track.
