This is a cafe directly managed by the well-established tea shop Hara Kotobukien located in Imaichicho-eki-dori Street in Izumo City. The shop offers green tea sweets such as Anmitsu with green tea soft cream, chiffon cake, and parfait making the best use of the flavor of Japanese tea from the old shop. You can also enjoy matcha soft cream and some drinks on the menu as take away.

一人でふらりとたまに行きます。出雲市駅から真っ直ぐ行きて、すぐ左手に出てきます。原寿園さんはお茶屋さんだけん、やはり抹茶アイスが美味しいです。抹茶パフェは、白玉やあんこも入りしっかりした量ありまさが、美味しいけんペロリと食べられます。一緒に出してごされるお茶も色々あるし、お土産も豊富だけんおススメです。

Mano Shouten is a restaurant specializing in seafood rice bowl that is located in Hinomisaki, Taisha Town, Izumo City. The restaurant serves seafood rice bowl made with high-quality hiramasa (Yellowtail Amberjack fish) from the Sea of Japan, and a sauce (with a secret recipe) that gives the dish its unique flavor. Mano Shouten also sells Ichiyaboshi (fish salted and dried overnight) made using seasonal fish species; the nodoguro (Blackthroat Seaperch) is especially popular.

Heiwa Soba is an Izumo Soba noodles restaurant that serves hand-made noodles made using locally-grown brown buckwheat; the buckwheat flour used to make the noodles contains some buckwheat chaff, which helps to give the noodles an especially rich flavor and dark coloration. Since the restaurant was founded in 1950, it has maintained a consistent emphasis on the quality of its hand-made Soba noodles, which are among the Izumo region’s most famous local specialties; Heiwa Soba is so popular that it sometimes has to close early because it has run out of noodles. Besides Warigo Soba (Soba noodles served in three tires of round lacquerware), Yamakake Soba (Soba noodles topped with grated yam) and Zaru Soba (Soba noodles served on a bamboo draining basket with dipping sauce), Heiwa Soba also serves Don (rice bowl) dishes and set meals. Heiwa Soba is located around 15 minutes’ walk from Izumotaisha-mae Station on the Ichibata Electric Railway line.

名物の出雲そばを頂きに来店。３大そばの一つといわれる出雲そばの初体験です。平日の開店直後に行ったがすでに満席。観光客、地元の会社員、出張の会社員、地元の方、客層は多彩。出雲そば、おいしかった。でも戸隠などと比べれば蕎麦の香りはあまりしない。印象薄く、特別な感じもしない。見回せば、多くの方がカツ丼を注文している。まあ、名物とはそういうものかもしれない。蕎麦ぜんざいはおいしかった！

Continuing for over 200 years since the late Edo period, Arakiya is the Izumo soba shop with the longest history. It is located in a quiet residential area and features a folksy, relaxed interior. Carefully chosen local Izumo soba flour is placed in a stone mill, quality well water is added, and round herring dashi (soup stock) is used to create the elegant taste. While soba supplies last. Tsuyamaya is a confectionery shop founded in 1912, and its new brand “Izumo Kanten Kobo” produces Japanese agar sweets using fruit and produce from Shimane Prefecture, the traditional French confectionery pate de fruits, and chocolate candies. In the café at the main shop you can enjoy green tea from Shimane Prefecture, original coffee, ginger tea, and more. Sweets like dorayaki pancakes and dango dumplings are also available. Located next to the Ichibata Electric Railway Taisha Line’s Izumotaisha-mae Station.

一畑電車の出雲大社駅前にある、可愛いお店に立ち寄りました。若い女性向けかと思いましたが、店内にはカラフルでヘルシーな寒天のお菓子が並んでいました。好みの寒天菓子を組み合わせてくれるのも、ありがたかったです。（お土産も大好評で、帰宅後に工房のWEBショップで再度購入してしまいました。）電車の時間の関係で、カフェを利用できなかったのが残念でした。次はぜひ使用利用したいと思います。

Shimane Izumo-shi Imaichi

A long-standing Japanese sweet shop founded in 1873. It sells Sukune-mochi rice cakes, which are named after Nomi no Sukune, the originator of Sumo. The cakes have a moist, soft, and refined texture, and as they're made with kneaded gyuhi mochi, they're still delicious even after several days. They come in two varieties incorporating Izumo grown yuzu citron or fragrant domestic sesame seeds. They won the highest award at the 17th National Confectionery Exposition. The versatile treat makes a great gift and is the quintessential Izumo souvenir. The rice cakes are even part of the in-flight service on Fuji Dream Airlines.

Located at the Goen Yokocho shopping area across from Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine's main entrance, they sell Japanese confections made of local ingredients. Their limited edition zenzai mochi rice cakes feature sweet bean paste inside the mochi rice. A delectable item with a refreshing sweetness and a saltiness that enhances the flavor of the ingredients, they're ideal for eating while exploring Izumo and make great gifts. They also sell Sukune-mochi, which won the highest prize at the National Confectionery Exposition, as well as pre-made packs of Izumo Zenzai celebratory soup for brightening up important occasions.

A sweet shop with a cute exterior and a red awning. Located about three minutes by car from Unshu-Hirata Station, they sell fresh cakes and pastries packed with local ingredients. Their signature Nama Roll is made with high quality whipped cream wrapped in soft, airy dough. Seasonal sandwich versions are also available for limited periods with strawberry in winter and peach in summer. Their spectacular Sosaku Roll is made with seasonal fruit and there's a different version available daily. They also sell made to order cakes that are perfect for birthdays and weddings.
