Izumo is said to be the birthplace Zenzai (a Japanese sweet), and this is a popular tea house providing carefully made sweet red bean desert. They offer a delicious zenzai that is not too sweet with soft rice cake that is made from local Shimane Prefecture Nita rice and large sized red beans from Hokkaido. Many people drop in on the way back from worshipping at Izumo Taisha Shrine for not only the sweets but also meals such as Izumo soba noodles and Enmusubi (lover's) udon.

A restaurant directly operated by a rice shop in Higashihommachi, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. Kura is renowned for its donburi, bowls of rice grown with the pure waters of Izumo topped with an abundance of delicacies from the sea and land of Shimane. The restaurant’s signature menu item is the shijimidon, which is piled high with shelled Lake Shinji basket clams flavored with dashi stock. This superb local treat gives meals the chance to enjoy rich, flavorful, plump and large sized basket clams. Other popular menu options include the sazanamidon topped with steamed shirasu whitebait, and the karubidon topped with Japanese wagyu beef.

新鮮な魚介類やお肉、とれたて野菜をふんだんに使った季節ごとの旬の料理が美味しいです。おすすめは、メインに味噌汁や小鉢が付いた定食です。
