A fashionable café located on Shinmon-dori Street in Taisha Town, Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. Operating out of a Japanese modern building, a renovated old ryokan inn, the café has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere where you can take a break and enjoy the view of the inner garden. One of the café’s most popular desserts is the elegantly sweet zenzai roll, a roll cake with sweet adzuki beans. Pomme Vert’s organic coffee is also well-reviewed. The café offers a full menu of “yoshoku” Japanese Western-style dishes such as omelet rice, pasta, and hamburg steaks, making it a great place to have lunch when visiting the nearby Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine.

A café in Ohda City, Shimane Prefecture operating out of a remodeled building which once belonged to Yakushiyu, the oldest hot spring bathhouse still in existence in the Yunotsu Onsen hot spring district. The stately wood building was constructed in 1919 and is notable for its Western-style design, including beautiful stained glass windows in its white walls, as well as the graceful arches under its eaves. The café makes use of the former men’s changing area and has an old-fashioned atmosphere highly reminiscent of Japan’s Taisho Roman style. The café offers food such as homemade Japanese-style curry and “Edo period bugyomeshi,” a dish whose recipe was once handed down among the Naito family, whose members served as village headsmen in the area for generations. The café’s onsen cappuccinos, decorated with Japan’s hot spring mark, are also popular.

薬師湯の隣にできたカフェレストランで昔の震湯の建物を利用しているのでレトロ感満載。温泉津の奉行飯という和風な食事とカレーからシフォンケーキなどカフェメニューが充実していて、食事処が少なくなった温泉津では貴重な存在。営業時間は朝11時からで夜の営業はないので、夜飲みたい人には温泉街にある「路庵」がお薦め。

Amaemon is a Japanese style cafe located in front of the main gate of Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine, a popular spot for worshipers taking a break between visiting the shrine. The tasteful interior of the shop is noticeable with its thick beams standing out from the plastered walls. In addition to their specially made parfait packed with lots of green tea, fruits and rice flour dumplings, their aimori-daifuku zenzai, a deliciously sweet hot zenzai (red bean soup) with ice cream filled daifuku-mochi (rice cake stuffed with bean jam), is also popular. Amaemon’s shaved ice kakigori covered in syrup is also a popular choice in the hot summer months. The nearest station is Izumotaisha-mae Station.

神門通りご縁横丁近くにあるお店で、参拝帰りに出雲ぜんざいを頂きました。種類は豊富で通常ぜんざいから抹茶ぜんざいまでありました。丸餅は紅白となり大国様の最中の皮と写真映えしそうなぜんざい。梅あられを箸休めに良い味でした。

前日に訪問しましたが閉店間際でゆっくり見られず、翌日開店から訪問。スタバと悩みましたがやはりここでしか飲めない珈琲をとこちらにしました。珈琲にかなりこだわっているお店でお店で中に入ると焙煎機があり、いくたかの珈琲が並んでました。見たことない珈琲マシーンに釘付けになりました。奥にはジュエリーもあり女性客が見入ってました。本日の珈琲500円とコーヒーソフトを買い店頭のベンチでいただきました...

This is a cafe directly managed by the well-established tea shop Hara Kotobukien located in Imaichicho-eki-dori Street in Izumo City. The shop offers green tea sweets such as Anmitsu with green tea soft cream, chiffon cake, and parfait making the best use of the flavor of Japanese tea from the old shop. You can also enjoy matcha soft cream and some drinks on the menu as take away.

一人でふらりとたまに行きます。出雲市駅から真っ直ぐ行きて、すぐ左手に出てきます。原寿園さんはお茶屋さんだけん、やはり抹茶アイスが美味しいです。抹茶パフェは、白玉やあんこも入りしっかりした量ありまさが、美味しいけんペロリと食べられます。一緒に出してごされるお茶も色々あるし、お土産も豊富だけんおススメです。

「津和野カトリック教会」の目の前で、津和野散策の休憩に最適のカフェです。津和野銘菓の源氏巻を作っている様子をガラス越しに眺めることができ、和紙人形などの郷土民芸品が所狭しと並んでいます。小豆あん、抹茶あん、白あんを１個ずつ食べ比べできる「源氏巻三種食べ比べセット」と「自家製シフォンケーキセット」が看板メニュー。令和元年に藩校養老館で行われた将棋竜王戦では、広瀬元竜王も注文されたそうです。

Shiomi Chaya is a tea-house located on Prefectural Route 37 to the north of Matsue Castle in Kitahori Town, Matsue City. Shiomi Chaya serves Botebote Tea—which is made by adding grains, pickles etc. to coarse green tea that has been whipped into a froth using a tea-whisk, and which is said to have been a favorite snack eaten by Matsudaira Harusato, the lord of the Matsue domain, while out hunting with falcons—as well as green tea, coffee, soba noodles, etc. Visitors can enjoy eating or drinking while relaxing on the terrace, which faces the moat of Matsue Castle. Shiomi Chaya also has a souvenir gifts corner where visitors can purchase famous local tea, confectionery and sake products, etc.

時間のない中での昼食に利用しました。入口はお土産物屋さんぽいですが、奥に食事をするコーナーがあります。お堀に面してテラス席もあり、雰囲気が良いです。割り子蕎麦をいただきました。以前訪れた専門の蕎麦屋さんと比較するのは酷だと思いますが、お味はごく普通。お値段もその分良心的です。むしろ、お茶するのに適したお店と思いました。

Cafe Juru is a café located near Iwamiginzan Park in the Omori Town of Ohda City. The café is situated in a renovated traditional farmhouse. It serves food that makes effective use of locally-sourced ingredients, including Gyusuji Torotoro Hayashi, which is made by slowly boiling Shimane Beef tendons, and a special lunchtime set meal (limited to a maximum of 10 diners per day) that features seasonal wild plants.

あまりハヤシライスは好きでないですが、たまにはいいかと入りました。もう１つはカレーで、味は似てました。少ないです。あとピザがあります他にも少し。ちょうど銀山と街並みの間、観光案内所の近くです。

Various artists’ works are displayed in Antworks Gallery, and the theme changes with the seasons. Two minutes on foot from Izumotaisha-mae Station on the Ichibata Electric Railway.

神門通りには色々な店があります。お土産物屋さんが多い中で、この店は陶器などが展示してあって、ゆっくり鑑賞できるギャラリーです。壁の色が陶器が映えるような色で、なかなかの演出です。

Gallery Kokufu and Cafe Dori are located in a refurbished traditional thatched roof house built over 160 years ago. In the old-fashioned atmosphere, you can try café experience and the other activities like pottery, cooking, and dyeing. They also hold various exhibits and other events using part of the thatched building and the storehouse. It is closed from January to February every year.

Kamedayama Tea Room is a café on the first floor of the retro Western-style building called “Kounkaku,” built in the outer area of Matsue Castle during the Meiji period. It features freshly brewed coffee, handmade sweets, and light fare. Constructed to lodge the Emperor Meiji on his Imperial visit, Imperial Prince Yoshihito, who would later become the Emperor Taisho, also stayed in 1907. You can pass a leisurely time here while admiring Kounkaku’s graceful decor. It is 10 minutes by car from Matsue Nishi Interchange on the San’in Expressway.

Tsuyamaya is a confectionery shop founded in 1912, and its new brand “Izumo Kanten Kobo” produces Japanese agar sweets using fruit and produce from Shimane Prefecture, the traditional French confectionery pate de fruits, and chocolate candies. In the café at the main shop you can enjoy green tea from Shimane Prefecture, original coffee, ginger tea, and more. Sweets like dorayaki pancakes and dango dumplings are also available. Located next to the Ichibata Electric Railway Taisha Line’s Izumotaisha-mae Station.

一畑電車の出雲大社駅前にある、可愛いお店に立ち寄りました。若い女性向けかと思いましたが、店内にはカラフルでヘルシーな寒天のお菓子が並んでいました。好みの寒天菓子を組み合わせてくれるのも、ありがたかったです。（お土産も大好評で、帰宅後に工房のWEBショップで再度購入してしまいました。）電車の時間の関係で、カフェを利用できなかったのが残念でした。次はぜひ使用利用したいと思います。

多分初めてだと思うけど茶がゆを食べに伺いました。こちらの店も前から知っていたけど入店は初めてでした。茶がゆセットはモーニングメニューで９時から１１時までの注文らしいです。お茶の店がしているカフェみたいですからセットの昆布茶を抹茶にした方が良かったかなあと思いました。

They have a variety of flavors such as plain, matcha green tea, chocolate and strawberry. Because they sell right sized tarts from individual pieces, they are perfect as souvenirs.
