- The local nickname for the shopping arcade which extends from Sakaiminato Station to the Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Museum. The area is a central part of the book “Yokai no Machi,” a book written by manga artist Shigeru Mizuki about his hometown of Sakaiminato City. The road is lined with numerous bronze statues of “yokai,” Japanese folk monsters that were a major focus of Mizuki’s work. The station, arcade shops, police boxes, street lights, and parks in the area all have been decorated with a yokai world theme. Some of the area’s many highlights include the kappa fountain, Youkai Shrine, and Gegege no Yokai Rakuen miniature theme park. This famous tourism destination is visited by large numbers of tourists not only from within the country but also around the world.

- This fully glass tower was built as a symbol of the “Japan Expo ’97 Tottori—San-in Yumeminato Exposition”, held in 1997. On the top floor of this 43- meter-high tower, you can get a 360-degree view of the Sea of Japan, Shimane Peninsula, and Sakaiminato streets. There are numerous things to enjoy inside the tower, including Minatomachi market—which was selected as one of the Top 100 souvenir facilities, as chosen by professionals, Tower’s Café—a place for gazing over the seas, and an exhibition hall of materials which let you experience the culture of various countries in the Sea of Japan who maintained trade with Tottori prefecture.

- This is the largest Chinese garden in Japan that was made as a symbol of friendship between Tottori Prefecture and Hebei Province in China. It is located near “Togo Onsen”, one of the hot springs in the Nashi-no-hana hot spring village. The beautiful and magnificent utopia that the successive Chinese emperors favored is designed in the garden and there are many scenic places such as the Sankeiken, long corridors and Nanahoshibashi bridge. Events are held in the garden and a Chinese acrobatic show can be seen every day, as well as China dress rentals, and annual events for the Chinese New Year and Sento-setsu festival.

- This tourist information center was opened in 1994 to serve as a local symbol as part of an area revitalization project. The reconstructed castle is built on the site where Toyotomi Hideyoshi placed his encampment during the subjugation of Inaba Province in 1580. Divided into three levels inside, the facility presents the history, culture, and plant and animal life of Tottori City's Kawahara-cho. From the terrace observatory on top of the castle, visitors can get a sweeping view of the area's seasonally changing scenery and, on clear days, see all the way to the Tottori Sand Dunes and the mountains of Chugoku. There are some 800 plum trees planted around the castle and in early spring many tourists come here to see their beautiful blossoms.

鳥取市河原町の小高い丘の上に建つ模擬（再建）城郭で、正式名称は丸山城。 車で頂上まで登れますが現在道路工事中で迂回路が通ってます、頂上には駐車場があります。（我々は下から徒歩で登って行ったので、結構ハードでした） 入場料は300円ですが、65歳以上で無料でした。 平日の午前中で殆ど他にお客さんは居ませんでした。 お城自体は鉄筋コンクリートで、資料館＋展望台となってます。

- "Shirakabe traditional warehouse district of Kurayoshi City is located around 40 minutes' drive from either the Yubara Interchange or the Hiruzen Interchange of the Yonago Expressway. Known as ""Little Kyoto"" because of its elegant appearance, the warehouse district has traditional white-walled warehouse buildings and stone bridges crossing the Tamagawa River that flows through the city, creating a magical retro atmosphere; this is one of the most Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Most of the warehouse buildings-which combine black walls made from burnt cedar wood with white wall plaster and red Sesshu tiled roofs-were built in the Edo period (1603-1868) or the Meiji period (1868-1912). Several of the warehouses have been refurbished inside, such as Akagawara Ichigokan (which now houses several first-rate shops selling local specialty products); others are now used as cafes, art galleries, etc."

- This observatory has the leading 103 cm reflecting telescope in Japan and a planetarium. In the daytime, visitors can view planetarium projection and daytime stars, and sun observation society events are held. During the night visitors can enjoy observing the starry night sky from the telescope at the accommodation facility.

- "Legend says San'in's oldest garden was visited by Emperor Go-Daigo when he was exiled to the Oki Islands at the fall of the Kamakura shogunate. It's one of only two early Edo period ""crane and tortoise"" gardens left in the country, the other being at Kyoto's Saihojji Temple, also known as the moss temple. The small ornamental pond style garden has a bit of a Horai Garden feel. Designed after natural scenery, the pond has an island representing ""Shinsen Island"" as a prayer for prosperity. Designs that became formalized in the Edo period can be seen throughout the garden; it has been registered as a National Site of Scenic Beauty. Be sure to call in advance before visiting."

- This townscape, a symbol of Kurayoshi, follows the Tama River flowing north of Mt. Utsubuki. The elegant, 400-meter-long stretch of townscape consists of numerous white stucco buildings topped with red tile roofs. In the Edo period, the town grew and flourished around a jin'ya government administrative headquarters; today, the area has been designated the Kurayoshi City Utsubukitamagawa Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, and visitors can imagine what life was like here in ancient times. The buildings, originally used as sake breweries and soy sauce making workshops, are now used to host local specialty product shops, cafes, galleries, and a variety of other establishments. The distinctive red roof tiles are one of the San'in regions unique cultural features. The tiles are fired at over 1,200° C and are extremely resistant to cold weather damage.

- This is a key hanging pass that overlooks the southern slope of Mt. Oyama, located at an altitude of 910 meters. The scenery of the exposed mountain surface contrasting with the beech and maple forest stained red and yellow, is magnificent. Many people visit during the autumn season.

- A post town on the old Chizu Orai highway, an important road connecting the Kinai and Inaba regions starting in the Nara period. When the daimyo (federal lords) were required to go to Edo during the Edo period under a policy of the Tokugawa Shogunate, this would be the first post town reached in the Tottori Domain. It had a tea shop, magistrate's office, and an official noticeboard. Machiya townhouses and signposts have been preserved that bring you back to another time. It's dotted with nationally designated Important Cultural Properties and Registered Tangible Cultural Properties, including the Ishitani Residence on a roughly 11,800-squre meter site with a Japanese garden, and the Shioyademise, a traditional merchant's townhouse with wonderful Japanese architecture.

- A group of shops and inns located in central Misasa Onsen, with its 800-year history. Primarily on the main street through the Hot Spring town, there are about 18 locations with galleries open to the public. Walking around viewing the excellent collections while taking in the atmosphere of the hot spring town gets good reviews. There are many exhibits that can only be seen there, such as displays of traditional Japanese indigo dyeing techniques and frog dolls from all over the world recalling the Kajika Frog of the Misasa River.

- This village, designated a Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, is one of only a very few found anywhere in the country which features virtually unaltered traditional mountain village scenery. In the Edo period, the village was a flourishing center of agriculture and charcoal production, while in the Meiji period it thrived via the silkworm cultivation industry. Here visitors can also taste the good old fashioned culinary delights of a Japanese farming village through establishments operating out of restored old homes such as a teahouse which makes teas using the area's delicious water, and a restaurant where you can eat rice made using a traditional kama stove. The village also boasts stunningly beautiful fall foliage in autumn.

- A street through the Teramachi neighborhood, not far from the Kamo River. There are nine Buddhist temples along the roughly 400-meter road. An unusual arrangement in Japan, the temples were transferred here and rebuilt from various places around Hoki province when Yonago Castle was constructed. Each has a different style, to give you a wide sampling of Buddhist art and architecture. Some of these temples are particularly historic: Ankokuji Temple had branches built in various provinces by the Ashikaga clan during the Muromachi Period, and Myozenji Temple has ties to the Nanbokucho Period warrior Kojima Takanori.
