- Tottori Tohaku-gun Misasacho Misasa
- Nearly 800-year-old Misasa Onsen is famous for its fireflies. You can see the wild genjibotaru species lighting up the night along the banks of the Mitoku River flowing from the hot spring town. The best time to visit is from early to mid-June. Good spots to view the fireflies include the walkway along the river and Firefly Brook, part of the Furusato Kenko-Mura facility. In season an indoor firefly exhibit is set up so you can enjoy them even when it rains.
