Tottori Pref. Kurayoshishi Nakanochou 812-1 Red tile 8 Building 2F
"A soba restaurant located on the second floor of the red-tile building No. 8 ""Akagawara Hachi-go-kan"" in the Kurayoshi Shirakabe Dozogun (group of white-walled storehouses made of soil). The homemade soba noodles contain buckwheat flour from the foot of Mt. Daisen and are prepared every morning using the traditional ""yugone"" (kneading flour with hot water) method. Such noodles are thin but firm and chewy, making them the owner's specialty. The names of the restaurant's menu item, including ""Tennyo (heavenly maiden) Soba"" and other elegant names, are derived from the legend of the Utsubuki Tennyo."

This is the headquarters and factory location of Sawai Coffee, a coffee and tea cafe chain established in 1982. The cute and distinctive exterior resembles a Greek temple; inside, customers can enjoy black teas and coffees with mild flavors that make them easy to drink even without adding sugar. The interior is spacious and brightly lit and, in addition to selling coffee beans, the establishment serves a full array of foods perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea. The establishment's brunch menu includes a croissant sandwich and salad combo, while the surprisingly filling afternoon tea combo comes with slice of original cake and a scone. The establishment is a favorite destination for tourists and locals of all ages.

This Japanese seafood restaurant faces the Sakai Channel. The restaurant's vaunted cuisine is made exclusively using wild seafood from Sakaiminato and the San'in region. All of the shop's seafood is stocked fresh each morning, and everything, from cheap yet popular varieties to high class seafood, is carefully selected by the owner and fishmongers. Each piece which makes up the restaurant's popular sashimi assortment is cut thick, resulting in a delightfully satisfying texture for diners. "Located to the west of the Mizuki Shigeru Museum, this manju (steamed buns with sweet bean paste filling) shop is distinguished by its black willow exterior. They sell cute, about six-centimeter-tall ningyo-yaki (doll-shaped manju) in the shapes of Kitaro, Medama-Oyaji, Neko-Musume, and Nezumi-Otoko. Ningyo-yaki contains one of three standard fillings: koshian (smooth bean paste), custard, and chocolate, and in addition, there are also black vanilla with a coal-black appearance and other seasonal items, each with a different flavor. Wrapped around the yokai (specter) manju is a ""Yokai Newspaper"" filled with information about Sakaiminato area and Mizuki Shigeru Road is included, so you can enjoy yourself even after eating the manju."

This Japanese restaurant adjoins Aeon Mall Hiezu a 10-minute drive from the Yonago Interchange on the Yonago Expressway. Situated in a corner of the Shinsen Ichiba fresh fish market in the parking lot, the restaurant serves vaunted seafood cuisine made with the freshest fish. The self-service style restaurant has a cheery and lively atmosphere. The restaurant's exquisite, hearty, and popular Mix-don rice bowl is topped with an abundance of tuna, sailfin sandfish, shrimp, squid, and sea urchin. "This farmers market is located just off the Mizukuchi Interchange on the Yonago Expressway. The market's dome-shaped building commands a view of Mt. Daisen; dedicated to the theme of ""locality,"" inside customers can purchase local foods and ingredients. The market's freshly harvested vegetables and fruits, and foods are all local and all chosen based on the motto of ""fresh, safe, and healthy."" The market's fresh highland vegetables, picked that very morning, were grown in so-called ""black terracotta"" soil made up of volcanic ash, and all are highly praised for their vibrancy and nutritiousness. The market also has a restaurant in the back where you can enjoy Hoki Wagyu beef, a rare brand name variety of Japanese beef which is hard to acquire even locally."

"This ""yoshoku"" Japanese-style Western food restaurant is located a 10-minute drive from Tottori Station. The old-fashioned restaurant is situated in a residential district and serves curry, omelet rice, pastas, pizzas, and more. The curry, the most popular item on the menu, is made with an abundance of fruits and vegetables, along with local beef from which the fat has been carefully trimmed and slow-stewed to imbue it with flavor. The light yet flavorful and full-bodied curry sauce goes perfectly with the restaurant's omelet rice. The hearty Otokogi Curry comes with twice the rice, twice the curry, and an omelet made with five eggs, and is topped with your choice of any two of the following: breaded deep fried shrimp, breaded deep fried tenderloin, and hamburg steak."

This sushi restaurant and ryokan inn is located in the heart of downtown Tottori City. The restaurant has been making its sushi rice using a traditional hagama pot since it was first established in 1934. The restaurant's traditional sushi rice is fluffy and modestly sour, and customers rave that it further enhances the flavor of the establishment's fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. During lunch, the restaurant's popular and colorful chirashi sushi is reasonably priced and comes with soup. Only available to 20 customers a day, on weekends and when events are being held nearby, it sells out fast. In winter, the establishment offers a popular lodging plan which includes nabe hotpot made with champagne crab, a wintertime tradition in Tottori.

This crab cuisine restaurant is located close the Tottori Port. Here you can enjoy fresh seafood chosen by the discerning eye of an experienced fish monger at the Tottori Port. The Aranami Kaiseki course meal is particularly popular as it gives you the chance to enjoy a wide selection of the restaurant's delicious cuisine in one sitting, and comes with an appetizer, seafood savory egg custard, sashimi, fish simmered in soy sauce, and an deep-fried dish. "This is the restaurant of Yamadaya, a longstanding Karo Port inn which has been in business for over 200 years. Here customers can enjoy fresh, seasonally-inspired seafood cuisine; along with a view of the port town of Karo and ships and seabirds coming and going. The restaurant's signature squid rice bowl is touted as being the original and is also featured on the restaurant's sign; the popular dish is topped with an abundance of the area's famous ""white squid,"" which has a highly sweet and rich flavor. The rice itself is mixed with teriyaki-broiled squid tentacles and organ meat; in turn, white squid sashimi is elegantly arranged on top. Add the accompanying squid pickles with koji malted rice, shiokara salted squid guts, and secret recipe sauce to enjoy an even more flavorful meal. Even meals for dinner are reservation-only, so prospective customers must contact the restaurant in advance."

This yakiniku grilled meat and offal restaurant is located an eight-minute drive from Tottori Station. The establishment exudes an old-timey atmosphere; inside, customers can enjoy horu soba, one of Tottori's favorite comfort foods. Horu soba has been a favorite in the eastern part of Tottori Prefecture for half a century and consists of fried noodles made with beef offal. The origins of the dish are said to date back to around 1960 when vegetables, miso sauce, and offal were fried together and added to Chinese noodles. In this restaurant, customers can add as much sauce as they like to the noodles cooking on the griddle in front of them, making it possible to make your noodles as strongly or lightly flavored as you like. Customers rave that once you experience the merger of plump offal with chewy noodles, you'll be hooked.
