    Yonago Waterbirds Sanctuary is located around 15 minutes' drive from JR Yonago Station; the sanctuary itself is around two minutes' walk from the parking area. The sanctuary, which is an important habitat for wild birds, occupies a part of Nakaumi Lagoon where the Ramsar Convention is registered. Every year, Yonago Waterbirds Sanctuary is visited by around 1,000 Tundra Swans (Bewick's Swans), more than anywhere else in Western Japan, as well as by an average of more than 75,000 geese and ducks. The sanctuary is also a vital habitat for many endangered plant and animal species, including Potamogeton pectinatus, a submerged aquatic plant, and the Appasus, an aquatic insect. At the Sanctuary's Nature Center, visitors can listen to explanatory talks by park rangers and volunteers, and can use the telescopes and binoculars installed in the Nature Center to view the birds. Various special events are held at the Sanctuary, including Nature Watching Fairs, etc.

    "A park built on the site of 1997's Sanin & Yume Minato Exposition. Its slogan is ""The port where the Sea of Japan and Mt. Daisen are most beautiful."" Features include the 43-meter high Yumeminato Tower; Minato-onsen Honokami, the only hot spring facility in the city; and the Sakaiminato Fish Center, one of the largest seafood specialty stores in western Japan. Benches are located throughout the park and it's perfect for a stroll while feeling the sea breeze and taking in the view of Mt. Daisen, the highest mountain in the Chugoku region. The area around the park is a famous fishing spot, drawing anglers throughout the year."

    A park with burial mounds modeled after life in the Yayoi period. Site of the Mukoyama Burial Mounds that were built from the late fifth to the late sixth centuries, a total of 17 mounds are distributed across the precincts. 104 haniwa earthen objects are set up around the scallop-style tumulus area that recreates a mid-Kofun period burial mound. The site is dotted with features that will help you imagine life in ancient times, like a 15-meter-high stilt-raised structure that has been restored to its original state. The Kodai Taiken no Yakata holds workshops in making earthenware, haniwa objects, and ceramic flutes, as well as building fires. Reservations are required. Its many other highlights include an adventure plaza with a wooden athletic tower and the Kodai Lotus Park where you can find the Oga lotus, a variety said to be 2,000 years old.

    A ground golf course with three courses - an outer course, inner course, and cape course. Tomari is the birthplace of ground golf, a game similar to golf in which you hit a ball and count how many strokes it takes to get it into a hole. The whole family, not just senior citizens, can enjoy playing a round on courses with sweeping views of the vast Sea of Japan. There's also a multipurpose grass lawn with a large white wind turbine, a symbol of the facility, and here visitors can run, play, or lie down and relax on the grass. In the summer, visitors can take in stunning fireworks shows.

    A park featuring bamboo groves with sasa bamboo and over 200 unusual bamboo varieties, both native and introduced. One of Japan's leading bamboo plantations, it's a great spot for wandering among the groves with the pale green light filtering through. It's Yazupoppo Yazu mini-SL Museum has a display of a mini steam train, and the Yuzu Garden Cafe with its excellent curry is great for a bite to eat. The park also has barbecue facilities, a campground, bungalows, and other amenities where you can enjoy the great outdoors with friends and family.

    "Shikano Castle Site Park, which is located around 20 minutes' drive from the Tottori Nishi Interchange of the Tottori Expressway, was formerly the site of a castle built during the Sengoku (Warring States) period (1467-1615) that was the residence of Kamei Korenori. Vestiges of the original castle can still be seen, including the Inner Moat and Outer Moat, which are filled with water, and parts of the stone walls. There are around 500 Yoshino Cherry trees in the park, and it is a famous spot for viewing cherry blossom in the spring. ""Shikano Cherry Blossom Festival"" is held in early April every year, to coincide with the period when the cherry trees are in bloom; during the festival, the cherry trees are illuminated in the evenings. The reflection of the illuminated cherry blossom in the water of the moats at night creates a truly magical effect that visitors find almost overwhelmingly beautiful."

    This is a park at the foot of Mt. Utsubuki, 204 meters in height, opened in commemoration of the Taisho Emperor visiting the area. It is one of the most famous sites for cherry blossoms in the Sanin region and has been chosen as “Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites”. Many people visit for the variety of cherry blossoms and azaleas in the spring time.

    This is an urban park built around the Tottori Castle ruins, famous for Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s starvation tactics. At the summit of Mt. Kyusho there are ruins of the tower and outer citadel, keeping the appearance of a mountain castle. At the base is Kyusho-koen Park, where there are many sights such as the Jinpu-kaku Mansion and a prefectural museum. Selected as one of Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom spots, there are approximately 240 cherry blossoms including the Yoshino cherry variety and in spring the area is teeming with stalls and cherry blossom viewers.

    This is a national park consisting of approximately 75 kilometers of coastline from Kyotango City in Kyoto Prefecture to Tottori City in Tottori Prefecture. There are many things to see such as the Tottori Sand Dunes, the largest in Japan, the scenic spots of Kamogaiso, and Natane-goto Islands, Takenohama Beach chosen in the best 100 Japanese beaches and the Tango Sand Dunes spreading for about 6.5 kilometers. There are also many beaches popular in summer in particular with people enjoying leisure activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and hiking, etc. Pleasure boats operate from three places in the area, and you can enjoy the beautiful seascape.

    This national park spans the three prefectures of Tottori, Shimane and Okayama and consists of the four regions of the mountainous area from Mt. Daisen to Mt. Hiruzen and Mt. Mitoku, the coastal region of the Shimane Peninsula, Mt. Sanbe area, and the Oki Islands. The park is gaining popular with mountain climbers because of its many famous mountains such as the highest peak in the Chugoku region, Mt. Daisen and Mt. Sanbe which is characterized by its varied landscapes. In addition, the area is visited by many worshippers making the pilgrimage to many historical sites surrounded in myth dotting the area such as Izumo Taisha Shrine and Hinomisaki-jinja Shrine. There are many campsites, camps, climbing roads, and information centers in the area, and it is used as the base for sightseeing and climbing. The Daisen Information Center provides multilingual brochures.

Kyusho, has a great deal to see, including the remains of Tottori Castle, Tottori Prefectural Museum, and the Jinpukaku (an elegant building constructed in the French Renaissance style in the Meiji period). With around 240 Somei Yoshino and Satozakura cherry trees, the Park is also ranked as one of the “Top 100 Best Places in Japan to View Cherry Blossom,” during the cherry blossom season, the Park is illuminated at night, enabling visitors to enjoy a truly magical spectacle.

    Sakai Daiba Park is a park centered round the remains of a coastal defense fortification that was one of eight such forts established in Tottori domain during the Edo period, and which has been designated as a National Historic Site. Within the Park there is also a hexagonal white wooden lighthouse; at certain times of year visitors are allowed to look round inside the lighthouse. Sakai Daiba Park is famous as one of the best places in Sakaiminato City for viewing cherry blossom; with around 350 cherry trees, the Park is a marvelous sight when the cherry blossom is in full bloom in spring.

    This mountain stream park sprawls near Daisen Garden Place, the gateway to leisure activities on Mt. Daisen. The spacious park is comprised of a variety of different areas, and visitors can walk along a path amidst conifers and plants with colorful leaves, or play in the clear waters of the Bessho River in a special area designed for young children. The park is one of the few places where visitors can play in water on Mt. Daisen, famous for its spring waters. This precious destination where one can fully immerse oneself in the mountain's bracing waters is little-known even amongst locals. The park's beautiful greenery and clear mountain stream create a stunningly refreshing contrast, and in the summer you'll find many families here enjoying fun in the river.
  • Otsuka Ajisai Park

    This area facing the Sea of Japan is dotted with hydrangea colonies that were originally planted to prevent salt-air damage. They were incorporated into the park during the construction of the breakwater, which started around 1975. The best time to see the hydrangeas is from mid-June to early July when about 2,000 hydrangeas of 10 varieties bloom throughout the park. Facilities include a gate ball ground, an arbor, and toilets. It covers in area of about 4,500 square meters, the largest in the prefecture.
  • Senjosan Manbon-Zakura Park

    This park is situated at the foot of Mt. Senjo, a mountain connected to the history of Emperor Go-Daigo. Senjo Cherry Blossom Festival is held in the park each year in late April.

    A municipal park looking out on Lake Togo. The expansive grounds have a sports center, covered common area, gate ball court, campground, and more. The entire area around Lake Togo has been designated Lake Togo Hawai Lakeside Park, and various recreational activities are available at the parks within it. Ayameike Park, located to the east of Lake Togo, is the lakeside park's core facility; it's fully equipped with an arena, seminar rooms, and a gym. Various flowers burst into bloom in season, including moss phlox in April, wisteria in May, and Japanese irises in June.
  • Takisan Park

    A nature park in the verdant Okuhino area. It has a view of the Neu townscape and the southern flank of Mt. Daisen in the distance. It's a famous flower viewing spot in spring with its cherry trees and roughly 30,000 mitsuba azaleas. The best time to visit is from mid to late April. The view of the whole mountainside covered in pink is spectacular and one of the best in the area. It is popular with local residents year-round, including for its cool streams in summer and colorful autumn leaves. A walkway runs along the stream that gives an impressive view from directly below the 50-meter high Ryuo Falls.

    A nature park located about 40 minutes by car from downtown Tottori. It has a barbecue area, campground, tennis courts, and a BMX racing course. The comprehensive outdoor facility is in Himeji district, Yazu Town, where there is also a shrine dedicated to Emperor Antoku and a group of gorinto tombs. It's known for being accessible to age groups ranging from kids to seniors. During the Golden Week holiday, they hold Antoku no Sato Himeji Park Festival, and visitors can enjoy a number of nature programs and games like a yamame trout fishing derby and a contest for catching fish by hand.

    2018年6月の日曜日に訪問しました。広大な芝生の広場がありました。グラウンドゴルフ場もありました。各種すべり台など子供の遊具もたくさんありました。天気が悪かったのもあり、すいており、子供もたくさん遊べました。

    広々とした芝生の場所や奥の方に行けば小川も流れていたり一日遊べます。ドームのかなでも本を読んだり子供を遊ばせる場所もありお天気のいい日はレジャーシートでお弁当も食べられます。
