    Kadoya Shokudo is a long running restaurant situated about one minute walk from Yuasa Station in Yuasa, Yuasa Town, Arida County. The restaurant is famous for its whitebait rice bowl and live whitebait rice bowl made with fresh whitebait from Yuasa topped with the restaurant’s own original sauce. It is also the original founder of whitebait rice bowl which has been selected as one of the top 30 local foods in Wakayama as a local specialty of Yuasa. As well as whitebait rice bowl served as a set meal with sashimi or udon, guests can have whitebait rice bowl included with any of the various set meals on offer by paying just a little extra.

    This popular ramen shop has been featured in a variety of media. Taking a page from the playbooks of popular Japanese restaurants, their ramen's broth and trimmings feature an array of local ingredients. The shop's soy sauce ramen comes recommended. It features broth made of dried niboshi from iwashi sardines, mackerel, and saury blended with Wakayama-made soy sauce and topped with Umedori chashu pork. They have lots of other kinds of ramen to choose from too. These include their Tokuno ramen has a scrumptious broth that's thick as potage, and their Gekko Japanese Style Tonkotsu ramen has a light yet sophisticated flavor. They also have three kinds of tsukemen dipping ramen. You can choose the quantity of the noodles.

Their plate lunches which use plenty of brown rice and pesticide-free vegetables, as well as their homemade bread made with natural yeast, are very popular, drawing many fans from far and wide.     A Japanese confectionary shop established in 1951 located in front of the torii gate of the Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine in Hongu Town, Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. The shop’s Kumano-mode-mochi rice cakes are often eaten by shrine visitors before worshipping at the shrine; simple in flavor, they consist of sweet an bean paste wrapped in mochi pounded rice and dusted with brown rice flour. The perfect place to take a break, Chincho-an also serves matcha green tea and mehari-zushi rice balls in pickled mustard leaves, a local dish, while still warm. Inside, the shop has a modern and quiet atmosphere with tables for customers.

    You’ll find this teahouse in the “Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings” in Yuasa Town, Arida County, Wakayama Prefecture. It was built in an old residence from around the end of the Edo period to the start of the Meiji period. The nostalgic earthen floor interior is always filled with music and has shelves with nearly 2,000 books. In addition to handmade cakes and Japanese sweets, there’s also homemade curry and rice, udon, and other popular dishes. You can bring in grilled fish and sashimi bought from the Kusuyama shop two doors down. Add them to the “rice set” that features Kinzanji miso and miso soup to create an original set meal.

The glass walls offer a sweeping view of the sea, and you can let the sound of the waves relax you on the porch.     熊野本宮大社に途中にある、ログハウス風の外観のレストラン。行った日はたくさんのツーリング客で賑わっていました。メニューは熊野牛を使ったものから、麺類、デザートまで豊富です。 今回は唐揚げ定食を頼みましたが、ご飯を特盛にすることが出来たので、かなりのボリュームになり、食べ応えありました。味も最高で文句なしでした。 次回は熊野牛のステーキを食べたいですね。

It looks like a traditional storehouse from the outside, and its high ceilings and wood-based interior decor create a calm and peaceful atmosphere. Its signature menu item is the Kumano Beef Sukiyaki Dinner. Its Udon noodle dishes are made in-house with wheat flour produced in Kagawa Prefecture. Popular noodle dishes unique to the area include Kumano Sweetfish Udon, which contains glazed sweetfish, and Kodo Udon, which contains mountain herbs and pickled plums.     This bakery on the Oishi-kogen Highland is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. Housed in a log cabin, there's a great view of the surrounding woodland from the terrace seating. It's a lovely way to enjoy the charms of nature with birdsong and the cool breeze passing through the valley. All of their products are additive-free. Their mountain shaped bread and their bacon knot filled with cream cheese and mustard get good reviews. They also serve juice and light fare like pizza and spaghetti, as well as items only available for a limited time.
