- This sloping trail is along the Ancient Kumano Kodo Route as one descends southwardly from the Fujishiro-jinja Shrine. It received the designation as a National Cultural Property in 2015, and in 2017 it became part of the Japan Heritage, the Treasure House of Scenic Beauty: Wakanoura. This spot is famous as the execution site of Prince Arima, who being the son of Emperor Kotoku, was misled into a revolt during the battles surrounding the successor of the Imperial Throne. To this day, at the entrance of the trail are the tombstone and the monument engraved with the waka song during the procession to his death.

- "This shrine road extends from the old stone Kada guidepost to Awashima Shrine. The guidepost marking the start of the road stands beside the three-forked road junction a short walk from Kada Station in the direction of Kada Port; the characters on the guidepost state, ""Right: road to Wakayama; left: road to Awashima."" The narrow lane extending away from this point to the west was once a road used to travel to Awaji Island, Shikoku, and Kyushu. Today, many traces of this era still remain, including the former Kada Police Station (now a private residence), covered with white-painted wooden siding and a traditional kawara tile roof; Kadakasuga Shrine; and other old structures; and visitors can walk the road and imagine what the area looked like when it was a busy traffic hub."
