    A restaurant with an old-fashioned feel located a two minute walk from Kushimoto Station. Renowned for its dishes made with local seafood, Mankou has been frequently featured in travel magazines. The shop’s signature dish is its skipjack tuna chazuke; the secret recipe sesame sauce is what really puts it over the top. The dish can be enjoyed two ways in a single sitting, first as a rice bowl topped with lightly pickled skipjack tuna sashimi, and then chazuke-style by pour piping-hot roasted rice tea over the bowl. Mankou is also famous for the lines which can form outside its door on weekends and during lunchtime.

    Located inside the “Kaisen Senbei Nanki” sightseeing facility in Shinjo Town, Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, this restaurant is known for its buffet’ that use plenty of local vegetables. There’s an open kitchen near the seats where they make over 50 different handmade dishes that are both healthy and taste great. The glass walls offer a sweeping view of the sea, and you can let the sound of the waves relax you on the porch. There’s a senbei (rice cracker) workshop observation session and a souvenir area, too.

    海に面していて大きなガラス張りになっているので、雰囲気がよいです。野菜中心の豊富なバイキング料理で、リゾートホテルのような感じ。美味しくて、デザート類も豊富。シニア割引があるので、老親と一緒に行きました。優しい和食中心なので、老親も大喜び。駐車場も広いので、余裕で車で行けます。

    This restaurant is inside “Akizuno Garten,” a hands-on sightseeing facility that opened in an old wooden schoolhouse. It is located in Kamiakizu, Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. The popular lunch buffet uses fresh homegrown and locally-grown vegetables and consists of over 30 healthy and mild dishes made by local women. Gaze at the nostalgia-inducing woodlands as you enjoy some tempura and salad made with seasonal vegetables.

    数回行きました。元小学校?を商業施設にしていて、雰囲気がとても良いです。地元のおばちゃんたちが素朴な野菜中心の料理をバイキング形式で提供。平日昼間でも結構混んでいます。1000円以下でバイキング、美味しくたくさん食べられる。デザートのおからドーナツとコーヒーゼリーは毎回お替りしてしまいます。季節がよければ庭のテーブルがおすすめ。時々野菜の大安売りもしています。

    A restaurant situated along the road leading from JR Dojoji Station to the Dojo-ji Temple. Possessing seating for up to 450 diners, the restaurant can accommodate everything from small groups to large parties of up to 150 people. The restaurant’s traditional kaiseki course cuisine is particularly popular and gives diners the chance to savor the seasonal flavors of Wakayama, such as cherry anthias in spring and wild longtooth grouper in winter. The restaurant also sells signature “Tsurigane Manju” sweet buns. A renowned local Wakayama treat, these buns also make great souvenirs. Additionally, the restaurant offers seasonal fruit picking plans throughout the year. The restaurant takes care of all the arrangements, including making reservations, making its tours a great and easy way to create a family memory.

The handmade noodle meal comes with juwari soba noodles made with exclusively with buckwheat flour and no fillers. The restaurant serves a brown rice meal made with the same ancient brown rice variety Taira no Koremori is said to have eaten when he assumed the name Komatsu Yasuke and moved to Kamiyukawa in Shimizu Town.

    JR和歌山駅の隣という感じです。駐車場もあり便利です。個室に案内されましたが、堀こたつ式なので足が楽でした。お昼に「うな丼」2800円をいただきました。皮がパリッと焼けていて、身がふっくらした感じに仕上がっています。タレも甘すぎずてとても美味しくて食べやすいものでした。日本料理店らしい細かな心遣いとおもてなしで、気持ちよく食事を済ますことができました。
