- Gen is a soba noodle restaurant located in Fukuchiin Town, Nara City. At lunchtime you can try their fragrant Juwari-soba (100% buckwheat flour), although they only make 40 bowls of this soul satisfying soba each day. You’ll need to book a table for the evening and it’s only available for just two groups. A course of soba noodles is served for guests lucky enough to get a table. This Michelin starred restaurant is particularly well known.

平日予約せず行ってみたところ、大半が予約しているようで、偶然にも空いていたのですぐに入れた。 田舎蕎麦は香りが良く、そのままでも、塩でも美味しく、空腹なら2枚は食べられそう。

美味しいお蕎麦を出すお店です ただオペレーションが少し稚拙なようで、順番状本来座るはずだった席ではなく狭い席に押し込まれました（先にそこに座った夫婦が座った後に空いた広い席に勝手に移動したためです）

宿泊していたホテルに近いならまちにあるお蕎麦屋さん。たまたま席が空いていたので何も期待せず入りましたが大当たりでした！ 蕎麦湯の良さが今までよくわかってなかったのですが、こちらで初めて美味しい！と思いました 爽やかな蕎麦の香りが鼻からスーッと抜ける美味しいお蕎麦です
Nara Areas
With a reputation almost as stellar as that of Kyoto, Nara is a must-visit for those searching for the remains of "traditional Japan." The largely green Nara city holds the majority of the prefecture’s treasures, such as the iconic Todai-ji Temple, in which a 15-meter tall Great Buddha sits, and Nara Park, where deer flock to befriend passersby. While mountains are by no means hard to come by in this area, for hiking with a reward, head to the Kii Mountains’ Yoshino district in spring, when the hillsides put on an impressive display of white and pink cherry blossoms.
