"This bakery and cafe is located in the Ikuta-cho, Chuo-ku, Kobe City. It was founded in 1924 by a German husband and Japanese wife team who popularized German bread in Japan, and were also the inspiration for the NHK serial television drama ""Kazamidori."" The bakery continues to bake not only German bread in a brick oven, but also cookies, pound cakes and other baked sweets, while the adjacent cafe serves sandwiches made with freshly baked bread, coffee and sweets."

While the food is good and the atmosphere pleasent, its not anything /too/ unusual or impressive. The church is great for the aesthetics, the cakes and sandwiches are wonderfully presented, but its...

"A cafe, identifiable by its stylish building, situated along Motomachi-dori Street not far from Motomachi Station on JR and Hanshin Electric Railway lines. The name ""Mamecha"" is comprised of the characters for ""legumes"" and ""tea,"" and as its name implies, the cafe serves a wide selection of items made with legumes, a food that is healthy and exceptionally nutritionally balanced. The diverse menu includes everything from a gratin consisting of various toppings over mamegohan (beans and rice) only available in limited portions each day, to a green tea and black soybean parfait. Focusing on making use of seasonal ingredients, a large portion of the items on the menu are only available for a limited time and, as such, customers will find new flavors to discover each and every time they come here. A cute dog serves as the restaurant's mascot and is kept inside."

Tea Room Mahisa, situated about three minutes on foot from Sannomiya Station, opened in 1987 as a tea shop. Their signature tea is the Mahisa-ryu (style), a milky tea made by adding milk to a strong tea brewed with plenty of tea leaves. Famed for its flavor direct from the tea plantations, and different to that of British tea, the tea shop uses tea leaves separately for its milk tea and straight tea. The scones and cakes which go well with the richly flavored tea are also popular. Inside, the tea shop is not overly bright and has a relaxed atmosphere.
