This scent-themed complex is on a hill that overlooks the townscape of Ichinomiya. Their Kaori-no-Yakata facility offers workshops like perfume making using incense and essential oils. They also have scent related displays, a large greenhouse dedicated to fuchsia flowers, and an enormous roughly 70-meter slide that's fun for kids and grown-ups alike. The Kaori-no-Yu large public bath at the Kaori-no-Yado building features a weakly alkaline simple hot spring drawn from Awajishima Ichinomiya Onsen. The water is said to be good for the skin, and day use is welcome. Their open-air bath with a view is infused with fresh herbs that provide a tantalizing aroma.

This farmers' market is situated across the road from Sayo Municipal Mikazuki Junior High School. The market consists of a local specialty products center selling processed foods made using fresh, local vegetables and other ingredients; and an adjoining restaurant which takes great pride in simple cuisine crafted with local ingredients. The restaurant's Ajiwai Teishoku set meal comes with quaint local cuisine, including Mikazuki soba tofu, kon'nyaku devil's tongue jelly, and seasonal tempura. On the first and third Fridays of the month, the restaurant also offers an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet consisting of dishes made with an abundance of fresh vegetables. In the adjoining activity classroom, visitors can have fun learning how to make soba noodles by hand.

Hyogo Areas

around-area-map

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
