    Hyougo Pref. Tatsunoshi Mitsuchoukurosaki 1492
A grove of plum trees located on the southern tip of Nishiharima a 30-minute drive from the Tatsuno-nishi interchange. Visitors can view numerous kofun burial mounds and other historic sites on the grounds. The best time to enjoy the park's plum blossoms is from late February to early March, and throughout this time period events such as haiku tournaments and landscape photography contests are held. Events are also often held here on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, including trained monkey shows, live koto performances, and plum seed spitting contests. Additional highlights include stone monuments inscribed with haiku written by famous visitors inspired by the sight of Mt. Ayabe plum grove, and a seasonal farm fresh shop which sells fresh-picked unripe plums for cooking.

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
