With a variety of displays and hands-on exhibits you can learn all about the history and development of instant ramen by Nissin Foods' founder, Ando Momofuku. Don't miss the display which shows off almost 800 different products from throughout Nissin Foods' history. The Chicken Ramen Factory where you can make your own chicken ramen (fee and reservation required) and the My CupNoodle Factory where you can make your own personal CupNoodle blend (fee required) are both very popular. Admission is free.

    A massive entertainment complex located inside Expo’70 Commemorative Park in Suita, Osaka which was built on the site of the Expoland amusement park and first opened in November 2015. The complex hosts eight entertainment facilities, including the large Lalaport Expocity shopping mall; the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan-produced Nifrel aquarium; the Pokemon Expo Gym, popular with children; and Orbi Osaka, a nature-oriented hands-on amusement and exploration center. This popular destination features shopping, fun, and learning, making it a fun place for families, couples, and men and women of all ages.

    Good shops and good food hall. We found what we were after the day we went and got a good lunch also. We were hoping the pokemon gym was still there but sadly not.

    Boasting a size about 65 times that of the Koshien Baseball Stadium, the Expo ’70 Commemorative Park is a huge park built on the site of the Osaka Expo. Whether for children or adults you can enjoy a day of activities here with facilities ranging from cultural facilities and natural and cultural gardens to the Japanese Garden and an onsen (hot spring facilities). Also, in the central rest area of the Japanese Garden you can see videos of the Expo that took place here in 1970 making it an important place to witness the events that occurred. Access the park from Bampaku-kinen-koen Station on the Osaka Monorail.

    A museum located inside Expo’70 Commemorative Park where visitors can enjoy exciting, novel exhibits which go beyond the boundaries of a dedicated aquarium, zoo, or art museum. Based on the concept of coming in contact with various sensibilities, the facility is divided into seven zones designed to stimulate the viewer’s sensitivities through animals viewed from a variety of perspectives, including colors, abilities, and shapes. The facility also has white tigers and numerous exhibits featuring waterside mammal’s such as miniature hippos and the popular capybara. There is a picnic-themed café in the museum as well as a souvenir shop. The closest station is Bampaku-kinen-koen Station.

    Located in Hattori Ryokuchi Park in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture, the Open-air Museum of Old Japanese Farmhouses was the first open-air museum of its kind in Japan when it opened in 1956. The Museum has on display 12 representative examples of traditional farmhouses from different parts of Japan—from Iwate Prefecture in the north to Amami-Oshima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture in the south—that have been relocated to the Museum site. Several of the buildings on display have been designated as Important Cultural Properties, including Gassho-zukuri style farmhouses from the Hida and Shirakawa-go regions, and a Nanbu Magari-ya (L-shaped farmhouse) from Iwate, northern Japan. Inside each house, typical furniture and living utensils from the region in question are displayed.

    This is well worth the visit to give you a glimpse of Japanese life in years gone by. An amazing selection of authentic looking structures. Plenty of space, quiet and relaxing. A terrific escape...

    This is a large commercial facility located within the Expo ’70 Commemorative Park about a two-minute walk away from Banpaku-kinen-koen Station, Osaka Monorail. You can also enjoy it after using the entertainment facilities in EXPOCITY, and it is also popular with families. There are approximately 305 stores assembled within the spacious facility such as fashion, interior, lifestyle goods, culture and gourmet, and there are also a large number of stores which have set up shop for the first time in Japan. In particular, we recommend popular character themed restaurant which is the only place where you can enjoy and the large scale food court which has an unbroken view of the tower of the sun statue.

    This natural park extending along the northern mountainous district of Mino City has close to 1,000 varieties of plants and is inhabited by more than 3,000 varieties of insects. Visitors can enjoy a variety of nature in all four seasons such as spring’s cherry blossoms and winter’s frost-covered trees and icicles, but the changing leaves in autumn are particularly beautiful. This is also known as a famous place for its waterfall, and the Mino-no-Taki waterfall with a width of five meters and a drop of 33 meters has been designated as one of Japan’s top 100 waterfalls. A hiking course follows a mountain stream from the bridge at the park entrance to the large waterfall, and is constantly traversed by people throughout the year. The park is approximately 30 minutes by train from downtown Osaka.

    This is one of Osaka Prefecture's most famous green areas and is only a five-minute walk from Ryokuchi-koen Station. This area of land, which is 33 times the size of Koshien Baseball Stadium, has a botanical garden where you can enjoy plants from all the seasons, tennis, a horse-riding facility, a swimming pool, a play area with a large playground, the Open-Air Museum of Old Japanese Farm Houses, an outdoor stage, and more. The park was selected as one of Japan's Best 100 City Parks. The park is rich with nature with pine trees, green roads, and a nearby forest with fountains and streams. Many events are also held at the various facilities across the park. People visit at all times of the year when they're in the North Osaka area.

    This is a museum located in Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture. The museum exhibits approximately 5,400 artworks that Ichizo Kobayashi, the founder of Hankyu Electric Railway, collected throughout his life. There are 15 certified national Important Cultural Properties and 20 Important Artworks. The famous portrait of Toyotomi Hideyoshi by Kano Mitsunobu, used in history textbooks, is also stored in this museum. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays visitors can also enjoy Sokushinan, a reproduced tea room in the museum which Itsuo (Ichizo) personally planned.

    A museum located inside Minoh Park in Minoh City. Designed around the concept of the world that insects see, the museum displays live and preserved examples of insects which live in Minoh as well as around the world. There's also a theater which shows animated videos and a kids' room which holds events such as insect petting sessions. Visitors can view a variety of plants and butterflies in the museum's butterfly garden.

    This is located within Mino-o park and you will see it on the way to the waterfall. Its more kids than adults. Visit only if theres time.

    This zoo is located within Satsukiyama Park and is about a 15-minute walk from Hankyu Ikeda Station. Since opening in 1957 it has played host to numerous guests. The zoo facilities include a Friendship Zoo, Gallery & Apple Island, Tasmanian Place and others. The Friendship Park, where you can pet and meet various animals, is particularly popular amongst children. Rare Australian animals including wombats and wallabies are also here at the zoo including the first wombats born in Japan who are growing up nice and healthy.

    The National Museum of Ethnology (or Minpaku) is located in the Expo Commemoration Park in Suita City, Osaka. With exhibits centered around cultural anthropology and ethnology it is the world's largest ethnology museum. Researcher's have collected some 345,000 articles of daily life tools and native dress from every part of the globe. Exhibits in the Main Building are divided into nine geographical regions and with both musical and spoken exhibitions, starting in Oceania before heading eastward in a lap around the globe. Come be introduced to a variety of world-wide cultures with nearly 12,000 displayed materials that focus on daily tools and necessities of life as well as 800 video shorts that show different cultural etiquettes and arts as well as daily activities. Special events and themed exhibitions are held multiple times throughout the year.

    This urban park is located approximately 15 minutes' walk from Senri-Chuo Station. It was constructed at the same time as Senri New Town, and spreads out to the east of the station, around the multi-unit apartments. The park's main attraction is the long roller slide in the Adventure Forest. The feeling of sliding down the mountain, through the trees, is exhilarating. The park also has athletic play areas for children to have fun while exercising and there are three hundred cherry trees planted in the park, making it a popular place to go flower-viewing in the spring. From the park's observation deck, Mt. Rokko and the mountains of Mino are visible, making it an outstanding view spot.

    Located approx. five minutes away from the Takatsuki City Bus Uenoguchi bus stop, this managed fishing ground uses the Akuta River that flows through Takatsuki City. Here you can enjoy catching sweetfish in the summer, and trout from the autumn to winter. You can buy fishing tickets at the union office near Shimojo Bridge. Every year, young sweetfish are released from April to May, and rainbow trout are released every day in the autumn, winter and spring. Events such as sweetfish fishing tournaments and trout fishing competitions are held, and they are lively with both children and fishermen. In addition, there is a dry riverbed where you can barbecue, so you can grill and eat what you catch right there.

    This park is located near the JR Kyoto Line's Takatsuki Station, around the ruins of Takatsuki Castle, which was abandoned in 1874. There are walks along what would have been the castle moat, rest zones and various sport zones including baseball grounds. There are play equipment and lawns for children to play on, and various other facilities, such as a traffic garden and a museum of history and folklore. Traffic lights and signs are installed in the Traffic Garden, to help children learn traffic rules and manners on go-karts. Only children aged 3-8 years may use the go-karts.

    This riverbed park is located along the Akutagawa River at the foot of the Monzen Bridge. A famous cherry blossom viewing spot, cherry blossoms bloom profusely along the bank in the spring. At Koinobori Festa 1000 held in May, over 1,000 carp streamers are raised and fill the sky over the Akutagawa River. In addition, you can enjoy playing at the river in the summer, and a large number of mainly local children gather there. The slide and spring riders are popular with small children. This spot is loved by local residents throughout the year.
