    A venerable “yoshoku” Japanese-style Western restaurant located in Osaka City’s Chuo Ward said to be the originator of omelet rice. It is believed that a dish created for a regular with a weak stomach who always ordered rice and omelets in 1925 became the model for the popular Japanese dish. The restaurant is housed in a tea ceremony house-style purely Japanese building and the omelet rice served here tastes extra special when eaten while seated on a zabuton cushion on the tatami mat floor. In addition to standard ketchup-based omelet rice, the restaurant also serves a wide variety of variations, such as hayashi sauce and beef stew-based versions.

The walls are lined with books and vinyl records, allowing diners to find their favorite tunes or books while enjoying their meal. The parlor's specialties are grass-fed beef and domestic beef steak, and its hamburgers, which make the most of the flavor of the meat, are popular as well. The parlor is also well-equipped with audio equipment or a projector, etc. and can be used for parties such as birthday celebration or welcome and farewell parties. Shinsaibashi Station is the nearest.

    Great work space. Great coffee & choice of food offers, including artisan pizza. Very cool vibe, plenty of power sockets & reasonable wifi too

    Tavola 36 is a restaurant and sky-bar located on the top floor of the Swissotel Nankai Osaka, a luxury hotel situated directly above Nankai Namba Station. At a height of 147 meters above ground, the large windows afford superb views of the Osaka nightscape, which appears to the viewer to be studded with jewels. In this refined, tasteful space, diners can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine while listening to live music. The restaurant also has a comprehensive selection of wines and cocktails, making this a great place for special evenings (such as an anniversary dinner). The lunchtime buffet is also very popular.

    Nishiya Honten is a long-established Shabu-shabu hotpot restaurant. The restaurant’s signature Shabu-shabu set meal gives diners the opportunity to enjoy delicious marbled beef from Japanese Black Cattle, together with sashimi and Udon noodles to finish off, making for a very filling meal. “Udon Chiri,” a dish developed by the former owner, combines full-bodied, smooth-tasting Osaka Udon noodles with seasonal vegetables, seafood (including prawns, etc.), and specially-made Ponzu vinegar; it is the ideal hotpot dish for a banquet. Nishiya Honten is located in a traditional Japanese-style wooden building, with a range of dining options, including private rooms with tatami or with hori-gotatsu (where diners sit around a heated table in a depression in the floor).

    This is a Western-style restaurant managed by old beef specialist “Hariju” established in 1919. It is located in a historical building made in 1948 which is also a landmark in Osaka’s Minami area, and offers beef-centric cuisine including Japanese Black beef steaks, beef cutlets, and slow-cooked beef stew. The interior is of retro Western style, its good old style mixing nicely with the Western menu. The nearest station is Namba Station.

    This is an old Western-style eatery established in 1926 in Shinsaibashisuji, Chuo Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. Here one can eat traditional Japanized Western food as well as authentic Western dishes. Their famous dish is the “omuraisu” (omelette with rice), its flavor not having been changed since establishment. They are proud of their soft rice with fluffy egg, which also comes in a popular set with a juicy skewered beef cutlet. The menu is full of other options including the voluminous extra special beef cutlet set meal and pork chops. The interior is a mix of brown wood and white walls with the atmosphere of a Western restaurant in a red brick town, popular even with unaccompanied female diners.

    Very nice, low profile restaurant for a quick lunch while shopping. We enjoyed a good (a strange as it may sound, the best yet in Japan) steak. Lovely staff.

    This Italian restaurant is about a four-minute walk from Nishi-Ohashi Station and only serves seafood-based dishes. The ingredients mainly consist of fresh fish procured from Osaka's central wholesale market by the owner and lead chef himself every morning, as well as vegetables supplied by contracted markets and farmers. The open kitchen makes for a lively ambience, and the bold dishes are complemented nicely by wine. The reasonably priced pasta lunches are quite popular.

    This famous bar offers authentic Spanish cuisine and is a three-minute walk from Hommachi Station. All dishes are reasonably priced and feature generous portions. Enjoy some alcohol while eating some paella with your friends, or try the ever-popular “skirt steak with Gorgonzola sauce.” And nothing beats the rich combination of wine and Jamon iberico.
