    Osaka Osakashi Kita-ku Oyodonaka 1-1-88 Umeda Sky Building
    An observatory facility located at the top of the 173 meter high Umeda Sky Building skyscraper located in Osaka City’s Kita Ward. Visitors can enjoy a 360 degree panorama of the streets of Osaka from the open air Sky Walk circular gallery, and many tourists both Japanese and international alike come to this famous spot to view the setting sun and Osaka’s nightscape. At night, the area is lit up by small, foot-level lights, creating a magical atmosphere. There is a fence at the site where lovers can attach a heart-shaped padlock to vow their love for one another, a popular destination for couples on dates. There is also a café on the 40th floor where you can take a break while enjoying the view.

    A very interesting structure and the view from the top is fantastic. There are a few shops and a cafe at the top and a lot of interesting information on how the building was constructed.

    The Tsuyu no Tenjinsha Shrine, which is located in the middle of a bustling area of Kita Ward, Osaka City, is reputed to have been built around the year 700. The Bunraku puppet drama “Sonezaki Shinju” was written by Chikamatsu Monzaemon about a tragic double suicide that occurred within the Shrine in 1703; as the name of the heroine of this drama was Ohatsu, the Shrine is now commonly referred to as the “Ohatsu Tenjin.” The Shrine is believed to be a good place to pray for success in business, safe journeys, or a good marriage, and as result it receives a large number of worshippers every day, particularly local shopkeepers and women. A flea market is held here on the first Friday of every month, and the Shrine is famous for its annual festival held in July each year.

    HEP FIVE is a fashion shopping mall in Osaka City. The building is very distinctive, with a red ferris wheel on the roof, and with the use of a striking red and white color scheme for the external walls. This is a trend-setting mall, with around 170 shops—mainly selling fashion and miscellaneous goods targeted at female consumers—and restaurants. The ferris wheel on the roof is an Umeda district landmark, enabling visitors to view Osaka City and Mt. Rokko from a height of 106 meters above ground level. The mother-and-child pair of red whale sculptures hung in the first-floor atrium were designed by famous industrial designer Tatsuya Ishii.

    A department store connected directly to Hanshin-Umeda Station renowned locally for its selection of foodstuffs and groceries. The grocery section in the basement is filled with shops offering everything from Osaka favorites to the tastes of renowned shops from around the country, such as ikayaki fried squid, 551 Horai, and rusks by Gateau Festa Harada, well-known for its lines. The Hanshin Department Store also hosts fashionable apparel shops, cosmetics stores, and a Hanshin Tigers shop on the eighth floor where you can purchase a variety of team-themed goods. In summer, a beer garden, which has become a mecca for Tigers fans, is opened on the roof where patrons can enjoy watching live baseball.

    This Ferris wheel is located on the 7th floor of HEP FIVE, a four-minute walk from JR Osaka Station. The red Ferris wheel is a symbol of HEP FIVE and when the weather is fine visitors are able to see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Mt. Ikoma. It takes about 15 minutes to go around and the 360 degrees panoramic view is a must-see. At night the view of the twinkling neon lights of high-rise buildings creates a romantic atmosphere. The Ferris wheel cars are air conditioned and recommended scenic spots are in the inside the car, making it fun to look for from about 106 meters high in the sky. Visitors can also save their memories with a photo service for a fee.
