    Osaka Osakashi Naniwa-ku Ebisuhigashi
Located on the western side of the site where the fifth National Industrial Exhibition was held in 1903, the approximately 92 thousand square meter neighborhood of Shinsekai was created to be “new highlight” of Osaka. Just to the north of the center of the area, visitors can find the Tsutenkaku Tower. Janjan Yokocho Alley, located in the southeast of Shinsekai, is lined with shops selling Osaka specialties like kushikatsu (fried pork and onions on skewers) and doteyaki (beef sinew in miso and mirin). The retro atmosphere, reminiscent of the Showa period, makes Shinsekai an extremely popular tourist attraction.

Hankyu Sanbangai is a large-scale shopping center attached to Hankyu Umeda Station. An artificial river flows through the underground part of the shopping center. It was constructed as a symbol of Osaka, the City of Water. The origin of this name is Trevi Plaza, a space where people come to relax while eating. The best spot of the shopping center is the food court on the second basement of the North Building, with its 1,000 seating capability. There are rows of many popular stores here, catering to customers from all walks of life. Many different types of facilities exist side by side here, such as children's rest rooms and Japanese areas, filled with antique works of art.

On basement level two (BF2) there are over 100 small food shops all reasonably priced and many with English menus or some ability to understand my terribly limited Japanese. We had okonomiyaki one...

Kishiwada Castle is located in Kishiki-cho, in Kishiwada City. Kishiwada Castle, also known as Chikiri Castle, is said to have been built by Wada Takaie, a relative of Kusunoki Masashige. The castle tower was built in 1585, when Toyotomi Hideyoshi's grandfather, Koide Hidemasa, began to expand the castle. The current three-tier / three-story castle tower was built in 1954, after the previous five-story burned down when it was struck by lightning in 1827. During the time of the Meiji Restoration, with the tower and gate destroyed, only the moat and stone walls still stood. In 1943, the site was designated as a historical site by Osaka Prefecture, and in 2014, Kishiwada Castle Garden (Hachijin no Niwa) was designated as a Place of Scenic Beauty. It is also a famous flower-viewing spot.
