Osaka Osakashi Chuou-ku Osakajou 3-1

Situated inside Osaka Castle Park in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, this is the largest event hall in western Japan with a capacity of 16,000 people. It was built in 1983 as the site of the “Osaka Chikujo 400-year Festival,” and the main part of the building was built underground out of consideration for the surrounding scenery. Aside from the arena, there are several halls and restaurants on the site. Popular domestic and overseas artists’ concerts and various ceremonies are held here, as well as a number of events attended by a large number of people throughout the year.

The Hall and the surrounding park had turned to a popular spot for local and tourists. It was really nice to stroll around. There were eateries and shops available for visitors. Pleasant area...

The National Bunraku Theatre, which opened in 1984, is located in the Chuo Ward of Osaka City. The 753-seat Large Hall is mainly used for performances of Ningyo Joruri (Bunraku) puppet theatre, one of Japan’s traditional performing arts; it is also used as a venue for theatrical productions, dance performances, etc. The Small Hall is used for performances of Rakugo, Manzai, Rokyoku (Naniwa-bushi recitation), etc. The National Bunraku Theatre also holds special performances for schoolchildren etc. who may not be familiar with Bunraku, with explanations. The Exhibition Hall in the National Bunraku Theatre has permanent exhibitions of books etc. relating to the history of Bunraku, as well as holding special thematic exhibitions.

Very nice traditional theatre. Show a bit long but authentic. My girlfriend got bored but I loved it, the costumes, acting, sets were incredible.

Osaka Osakashi Chuou-ku Doutombori 1-9-19

This theater is located in 1-Chome Dotonbori. Modeled after the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the theater was opened as the first Western-style theater in the Kansai region in 1923. The theater's impressive front entrance sports a grand Neo-Renaissance-style arch. The theater's European-style entrance is on the first floor; concessions and sofas are positioned around the second floor lobby, and floors three through five are for audience seating. In 1997, facilities were upgraded and added while leaving the front entrance in its original condition. The theater hosts kabuki, shinpa, and Shochiku Shinkigeki plays as well as reviews, musicals, concerts, and more.

We were excited to go to see a live Kabuki performance......but it was not what we expected.......we asked what was showing....my friend speaks Japanese......and paid for one act........NO photos are...

The Umeda Arts Theater Main Hall is located inside the Chayamachi Applause in Chayamachi. It was previously known as the Umeda Koma Theater. It moved to its current location from the west of the HEP FIVE building in 1992 and in 2005 it was renamed. You can enjoy a wide variety of performances from Takarazuka Revues, plays, modern and classic musicals, opera, and ballet. The auditorium holds 1,905 seats with a large chandelier in the center. You can enter on the first and second floors with a lobby on each floor, as well as shops and restaurants.

Osaka Osakashi Kita-ku Tenjimbashi 2-1-34

An entertainment hall dedicated to rakugo traditional comedic storytelling which opened in 2006 and the only dedicated rakugo facility in the Osaka-Kyoto area. Rakugo masters belonging to the Kamigata Rakugo Association perform daily. The matinee program changes weekly while the evening show changes daily. The theater seats up to 216 and attendees can enjoy the performances of young newcomers and veterans up close and personal. The theater also provides “yose” variety shows featuring magicians and manzai comedy duos. Outside, the theater is decorated with a red rickshaw, a recreation of the one used by Katsura Harudanji I, and this has become a popular spot for taking commemorative photos. The closest station is Minamimorimachi Station.

Dotonbori ZAZA located in the first below ground floor of Nakaza Cuidaore Building in downtown Dotonbori in Minami district of Osaka is a theater divided into two halls; “HOUSE” and “POCKET’S”. It holds live comedy by young performers daily as well as a range of events such as rakugo (traditional Japanese comic storytelling), theatrical performances, and music. “HOUSE” accommodates up to about 150 people and “POCKET’S” can hold up to about 80 people. The stage and audience are close enough to enjoy immersive entertainment. The closest station is Namba Station.

My family and I enjoyed the musical so much, we kept singing the theme song gotta gotta! all the way back to our home country! Kudos to the five actors and also to their kind manager who went out...

Opened in December 2014, the theater is right in front of Namba Grand Kagetsu. If you want to see young Osaka comedians, here is the first place you have to come. A variety of comedians, from popular comedians to rising comedians, will perform. The company holds daily performances of not only neta (comedy with pre-thought-out script) such as manzai or standup comedy, but also solo, unit, or project live shows, each with elaboration. Many young comedians who are expected to make their breakthrough in the future belong to this group, so finding your favorite comedian is one of the fun parts of the show. Another feature of this theater is that the audience seats are 305 and very close to the stage.

Exiting the underground Nanba Station from exit 26-B, you will see a building resembling an octagonal UFO across the Hanshin Expressway. The Minato-machi River Place is a facility complex built around the Live House, Namba Hatch. Various live events including rock and hip-hop are held in this building. There are also three plazas set up outside for use as outdoor event zones. Mini live events, exhibitions and other events, such as flea markets are also held here. The Dotonbori river flows past the complex, and with its beautiful nighttime views, is a popular date spot.

JR難波駅と道頓堀川の間にある、お寺のお堂のような人目を引く建造物。観光客の動線からは少し外れているが、すぐ北側に遊覧船の乗り場もあり、川の見える階段に座り込んで一休みする人も多い。中にはライブホールが入っているらしい。

"The Shinkabukiza Theater has convenient, direct access to and from Kintetsu Railway's Osaka Uehommachi Station. Part of the appeal of this theater is that the audience members are very close to the performers on stage. This underground theater is located in the Umeda Arts Theater, inside Chaya-machi's Chaya-machi Applause Tower. It has 898 seats, half that of the main hall, but because of this, the seats are that much closer to the stage, giving the audience a much more intimate view of the performances here. The theater is primarily used for non-musical plays, but musical performances are also held here, and it is also a venue for Takarazuka Revue amateur performances, Youth Theater Japan performances and by the Rakugo Asahi East-West Association and Kamigata Rakugo performances. There is a bar with a counter in the lobby, where visitors can relax before performances begin and during the interludes.

This multipurpose hall is located seven minutes' walk from the Nankai Koya Line's Kawachinagano Station. The hall's nickname Lovely Hall was chosen by the public. Various events, such as concerts, movies and plays are held here. The large hall (seating 1,308 people) has an orchestra pit, and the small hall (seating 464 people), conference rooms, a rehearsal room and a sound recording. Rooms are available to be used for a fee, on a time-based system. Many people also visit the hall for regular dance lessons and fitness and yoga classes.

広い多目的ホールでした。今日は友人が所属しているオーケストラを見に行きました。館内は綺麗で、全席までの距離がゆったりとってあって、満席でも窮屈ではありませんでした。駅から10分程度は、雨でなければお散歩にちょうど良い距離でした。

This is the theater where the pop idol group produced by Mr. Yasushi Akimoto “NMB48” has their headquarters, which is located in the building opposite “Namba Grand Kagetsu” in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The theatre is used as a concert venue for NMB48 and its sister group AKB48, with a feature being the close proximity of the seating to the stage. There are photographs of all the members of the NMB48 group and name plates of members who have left the group posted on the walls of the passage leading into the theatre. It is necessary to apply in advance for tickets for public performances.

It opened in April 2015 as Namba's new landmark of information dissemination. This new theater holds many shows centered on Yoshimoto comedy shows such as dances, live music performances and talk shows. Accommodating 326 people, it boasts high-quality acoustics and lighting equipment. It also has a projector that can do 3D mapping, and shows can be shown online and on television. Its biggest distinction is its many state-of-the-art and high-quality features.
