    Kyoto Kyoto-shi Nakagyo-ku Sanjo Gokomachi
    A five-minute walk from Sanjo Station and an eight-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station. Situated at the intersection of Sanjo-dori Street and Gokomachi-dori Street, this building was built in 1928 to serve as the Kyoto branch office of the Osaka Mainichi Shimbun newspaper company. The building's design includes a distinctive balcony whose shape was modeled after the company emblem, stylish lamps on either side of the main entrance, and art deco influences. A rare example of architecture from this period, the building has been designated a Tangible Cultural Property by Kyoto City. The building still looks as it did when it first opened and its distinctive arched hall is used to host a variety of performances as Art Complex 1928.

    A commercial facility on the north side after going west from the Karasuma-Sanjo Intersection. The building is a renovated western style wood building constructed in 1920 and is home to a cafe, gallery shop, and fashion brand store. It's a commercial facility that is also a transmission base for art and culture.

    The Kyoto Eastern Orthodox Church is located in a quiet residential area coming out of Yanaginobanba-dori Street from Oike-dori Street. As the center for the propagation of the Greek Orthodox Church across western Japan it was completed in 1903 and as a genuine Russian / Byzantine construction church it is has been designated one of Kyoto’s Important Cultural Properties. The highlight is the cathedral’s iconostasis inlayed with 30 icons made in the era of the Russian Empire. However, to see it one must arrange in advance.

    小学校を利用した、いわば京都観光の情報発信基地のようです。いろいろなパンフも置いてあるし飲食店も有ります。校庭も残っていて、子供たちが走り回っている姿が目に浮かびます。

    元祇園梛神社の社号碑が立つ鳥居を潜ると境内となり、正面に拝殿が立っていました。その拝殿は形状がやや異なる2つの社となっており、片方が境内社となる「隼神社」となっていました。因みに社務所ではバラエティに富んだ御朱印に対応されており、ごく普通のシンプルな御朱印も2社それぞれ別ものになっていました。

    地下鉄の烏丸御池駅から少し東側に行ったところにあります。足利尊氏が邸内の守護神として勧請したと伝えられているそうで、その為に御所という名称がついているそうです。こじんまりと場所ですが、そういう由来もあるので、通りを挟んで近くにある足利尊氏邸跡などと一緒に見学するのがいいかと思います。

    洛陽三十三観音霊場第26番札所として参拝しました。 広い境内を有する寺院で、山門前は木の柵で仕切られて通行不能となっていましたが、通用口から境内は入る事が出来ました。 因みにきちんと整えられた境内の一角には鳥居も立っていました。

    周辺は住宅やお寺が多いエリアです。また道も狭いので撮影しにくい場所です。正直特徴あるとは言いにくいお寺ですね。境内はほどほど広いと思いますが、京都なら普通かもしれません。泥足地蔵または汗出し地蔵と言われ難産のときの苦しみを背負ってくれる仏様が安置されています。
