- Located a 15-minute walk from Jingu-Marutamachi Station on the Keihan Railroad, this small cafe was handed down from a grandmother to her grandchild. The retro yet charming exterior immediately attracts attention. The interior is decorated with Western-style antique furniture, but somehow it all fits in with the mood of the ancient capital, Kyoto. Ever since La Voiture opened in 1971, its delicious tarte tatin has been a favorite. This rich confection, chock full of apples, has even won an award from the local tarte tatin association. It also has a wide-ranging menu of drinks, making it a perfect spot for a bit of relaxation.
