The Amanohashidate Winery makes its own wine from grapes they cultivate in vineyards looking out on Amanohashidate. Guests enjoy wine tastings and a lunch buffet featuring handmade dishes with plenty of local ingredients. Their original white wine soft serve ice cream comes recommended, as does their Baby Wine, like a sparkling wine in the process of fermenting that you can only drink there. You could only get such flavors at a winery.

The Tamba Wine House, in Kyotamba Town, Funai County, Kyoto Prefecture, has their own expansive vineyard and brewery where you can observe the wine making process from fermentation through to bottling, and then enjoy some wine tasting at the salon bar. The restaurant offers cuisine made from regional produce and Tamba beef. Wine and souvenir gifts can be purchased at the shop.

Kyoto Areas

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
