    This temple is located in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, and refers to the area around Yokokawa Main Hall, Enryaku-ji Temple. Opened by Ennin, a disciple of Saicho, it is well-known as a place where famous monks such as Shinran, Nichiren and Dogen trained. The Sho Kannon Bosatsu is enshrined in the butai-zukuri hall, which seems to float like a ship. There are also shuttle buses service from each of Enryaku-ji Temple's East tower and West Tower.

    Located in Sakamoto Honmachi, Otsu City, this designated National Treasure is the overarching main temple building of the Enryakuji Temple, the head temple of Tendai Buddhism. The Enryakuji Temple is divided into three sections; the Konpon Chudo is located on the Todo grounds. The temple’s origins date back to 788 when the great monk Saicho founded the Ichijo Shikanin; construction of the current Konpon Chudo building was completed in 1642. The Konpon Chudo enshrines a figure of Bhaisajyaguru, the principal object of worship, as well as a votive light which has been kept lit for 1,200 years.

    A funazushi (old fashioned fermented crucian carp sushi) shop located in 1 Chome Nagara, Otsu City. This long-standing establishment first opened its doors in 1869. Funazushi is a fermented food which has been designated an Intangible Folk Cultural Property by the prefecture, and its history dates back over 1,000 years. The shop’s funazushi is made according to traditional methods using just wild nigorobuna round crucian carp from Lake Biwa and locally grown Omi rice. In addition to funazushi, the shop sells other goods such as fish from Lake Biwa cooked and preserved in soy sauce tsukudani style.

The temple’s garden, created by the famous Kobori Masakazu, has been designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty.

This Japanese confectionary shop, established in 1932, can be reached by heading a short distance north on the road following Lake Biwa from the Otsu Kannonji Post Office on the southwest bank of the lake. The shop is famous for its Otsu-e senbei rice crackers, which are branded with Otsu-e folk art images whose history stretches back to the first half of the 17th century. These simple yet delicious treats are made with just three ingredients according to the same recipe used since the shop was founded, and have long been popular to give as souvenirs and gifts. In addition to these crackers, the shop offers a wide selection of other products which utilize the unique cultural and culinary features of Omi, including manju buns, monaka wafer cakes, and jams. The shop also sells special tie-in items made in collaboration with anime properties.

    A five-minute walk from JR Otsukyo Station. This cake shop is located next to the Ojiyama Police Box and in front of the Ojigaoka 3-Chome Intersection. Unlike most cake shops, the establishment is open from 9 a.m. Using an abundance of ingredients from Shiga Prefecture, the shop sells everything from a sponge cake which can even be eaten by people allergic to eggs; to items which make perfect gifts and souvenirs, like sable cookies decorated with one of 100 classic poems about Omi by 100 poets, and an apple pie selected to be given as a gift to those paying into the local Furusato Nozei hometown tax donation system. The shop also operates a cafe and offers confection making classes, as well as a delightful sweets buffet.

    This traditional kaiseki course cuisine restaurant is situated along Prefectural Route 782 next to the Butsushinji Temple. Dedicated to the concept of local production for local consumption, the restaurant makes use of choice ingredients sourced from within the prefecture. One of the restaurant's most distinctive characteristics is its emphasis not just on the cuisine but also on ensuring that the atmosphere of the entire establishment is uniform and harmonious, right down to the tableware and ikebana flower arrangements. Customers can choose between a lunch course and a fusion kaiseki course based on their budget - the latter course is available to parties of two or more people and must be reserved in advance. The restaurant's daggertooth pike conger shabushabu hotpot is only available in summer, while the wild Japanese amberjack shabushabu hotpot is only available in winter. The restaurant also sells its own homemade vinegar and soy sauce. Lastly, the restaurant has a private dining area which can accommodate up to 14 people.
