- A Japanese ame candy specialty shop situated along the Hokkoku Highway in Sakaguchi Yogo-cho, Nagahama City. The shop’s “Kikusuiame” candies have been renowned among travelers of the Hokkoku Highway since the Edo period. This tasty candy is made using mizuame syrup created by the maltose reduction of grain starch and without the use of sugar or additives. Super sticky, “Kikusuiame” is eaten by gathering and rolling strands of the candy around a stick. The shop also sells “Kikusui no Tsubuame,” the shop’s famous “Kikusuiame” turned into hard candies.

出張の際に手土産を探しておりましたが近くにあまり店がなく、たまたまランチで入ったお店に手作りクッキーやケーキがあり試食させていただき、クッキーや色々詰め合わせを選んだのですが、取引先に持っていったらとても喜ばれました。地元では有名なのでしょうか？

- A mountain river fish cuisine specialty restaurant situated along Prefectural Route 17 in Samegai, Maibara City. The restaurant serves traditional kaiseki course cuisine, gozen meals for groups, and trout and other rice bowls made using mountain river fish such as Biwa trout, a species endemic to Lake Biwa. The restaurant also offers a traditional Japanese Buddhist vegetarian course meal (reservation required). In addition, visitors can try trout fishing in the river in front of the restaurant or bring in fish caught at the nearby Samegai Trout Farm’s fish ponds to have the restaurant cook them.

ここは古代の修行の地として有名です。現在は天台宗寺院。開山は実に６８０年と白鳳時代にまで遡ります。伊吹山にかかる修行地の一つです。開創は有名な「役行者小角」です。現在の本堂は平成２４年６月に落慶した真新しいものです。本堂は松尾山山麓に再建されているが、本日はセット旅行でもあり、参拝はしていません。政所を訪れただけです。

今回二度目4回目の来店。せっかく遠方まで来るので2日連続で来ています。 若旦那は、鮨が大好きでおおいに鮨談議で盛り上がりました。 料理と鮨コースは、私には品数が多く途中でギブアップ。 次からはお寿司だけにしようと思いました。 半年に1回（実は2回）は期待と思う店です。 幸せな気持ちにしてくれてありがとう。
