- Shiga Otsu-shi Bomura Cho 237
- A 60-90-minute drive from the Kyoto-higashi Interchange, and a 105-135-minute drive from the Kyoto-minami Interchange. This canyoning tour is operated by Shizenha Kikaku; the tour gathering area is located near the Otsu Kita Police Station's Katsuragawa Branch. Of the company's more than 10 courses, this one is the least expensive and least difficult, making it ideal for beginners. People of elementary school age and older can take part. Tour participants can enjoy jumping into the water from six meters above, but doing so is optional. The roughly one-kilometer-long course takes around three hours to complete before the tour ends. Participants must bring their own swimsuit, etc.

Shiga Areas
Visitors to Shiga prefecture are almost always hopping east across the prefectural border from Kyoto, and they are almost certainly Lake Biwa-bound. Covering an area of 670 square kilometers, Lake Biwa makes up the bulk of Shiga prefecture, with beautiful lakeside paths that offer myriad walking and cycling opportunities, connecting a string of museums, shrines, and picturesque views that finally lead you to Hikone Castle on the eastern side of the lake.
