    This hotel and restaurant located in Daio Town, Shima City, Mie Prefecture is situated in a verdant spot overlooking Ago Bay. The owner chef is the former chef of a ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant). They take pride in their food that is a blend of Japanese and Western style and incorporates French techniques, and guests can taste original courses prepared using plenty of local ingredients such as Ise-ebi (spiny lobster), abalone, and tora-fugu (tiger pufferfish). The ambience is like that of a hideaway offering a lovely view of the quiet sea, and it is easy to use for dates or other commemorative occasions. They also carry a full range of wines that go well with their course food.

    Café Iwajin, located about one minute’s walk from Kashikojima Station, is a tea room attached to the Iwajin Pearl shop which is a well-established pearl shop opened in the early Showa period (1926-1989). The shop has a bright atmosphere with a whole wall of glass. While looking at the Japanese garden, you can enjoy lunch and light menu items. A popular menu item is the pasta set meal using Shima brand pork and abundant seafood. It has a reputation for an authentic taste which displays the skills of a chef trained in the Principality of Monaco. It also has many fans for its highly aromatic coffee and dessert menu.

    This French restaurant inside the Shima Kanko Hotel is located a five-minute walk from Kashikojima Station of the Kintetsu Limited Express. It is famous for its female chef presiding over the dinner for the G7 Ise-Shima Summit in 2016. You can enjoy French seafood cuisine that uses plenty of seafood and new techniques while keeping to tradition. You can taste various courses including the Tradition lined with ingredients from Mie Prefecture such as Ise lobster, abalone and Matsusaka beef, Surprise, Elegance and Avantageuse, in addition to a summer-only dinner full of abalone.

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
