    This souvenir shop is just 30 seconds on foot from Ujihashi Bridge by Ise Jingu Shrine's Naiku (Inner Ise Shrine).They sell the local favorite Iwato mochi, ginger sugar, and more. Iwato mochi is associated with the auspicious events of the Iwato Kagura dance of Japanese mythology. A popular souvenir, it consists of koshian sweet bean paste made from the finest Hokkaido adzuki beans and light-flavored soft mochi rice cakes prepared with carefully selected glutinous rice and kinako soy flour. Their ginger candies are made by simmering ginger juice mixed with sugar and then pouring it into molds. They also have other flavors that include cinnamon, matcha green tea, and adzuki bean.

    おかげ横丁のお土産店の店内奥にある五十鈴食堂を利用しました。平日にも関わらず、店内は混んでいました。それでも待つことなく店内へ。テーブルに着いたら、すぐに券売機へ。海老フライ定食をオーダー。大きくて厚みのあるエビフライが二本、海老の身がギッシリ。タルタルソースと海老フライの相性は抜群。海老の旨味が口の中にいっぱい広がる。ご飯の味もいい。ただ、千切りのキャベツは少し新鮮味に欠けていたのが残念でした。

    "This shop sells Iga kumihimo cords, a traditional craft which has been a popular Mie souvenir since ancient times. The shop stands in a corner of the Oharai-cho district, originally a town area which grew up around the Ise Jingu shrine. The shop sells cords for traditional uses such as tying kimono sashes and scrolls, as well as items suited to modern purposes such as cellphone straps and netsuke belt toggles. The shop's Iga kumihimo cords, woven one at a time by hand according to a traditional method using gold, silver, and silk thread, are each unique and different and make perfect Ise souvenirs. The shop's cords woven in the shape of the components which make up the character for ""to come true"" have become popular as charms which are said to make one's wish come true."

    組み紐とは、絹糸や綿糸で組み上げられた紐の事で日本の伝統工芸品になります。伊勢神宮内宮近くのおはらい町通り沿いにありました。組み紐を使ったストラップやキーホルダーなど可愛らしいお土産がたくさんそろっており、楽しいお店です。

    This veteran shop specializing in Ise kamaboko is about five minutes on foot from JR and Kintetsu Ise City Station. Their high-grade kamaboko produced by skilled craftsmen could never be made by a machine. The most popular variety is Ise hiryozu, a filling fried fish cake incorporating nine healthy ingredients including Ise hijiki that's delicately simmered for about 15 minutes in rice oil. Their Cheese Sticks, satsuma-age kamaboko with piping hot cheese, has long been a best seller with customers of all ages.

    外宮参拝後、内宮へ移動前に一息。揚げたての丸い「ひりょうず」は具材たっぷりでオススメ、とっても美味しいので絶対食べてください!!

    The Maneki-neko (lucky beckoning cat) specialty store is in the Okage Yokocho area near Inner Ise Shrine in Ise, Mie. The store is marked by a large stone beckoning cat just outside. Inside the store you’ll find nearly 1,000 different types of beckoning cats on display from all around the country. You’ll find cats in all mediums such as pottery, including the Tokoname, Seto, and Kutani ceramic styles, papier-mache, and wood carvings from a variety of different types of wood. They also deal in works by contemporary writers and beckoning cat traditional toys. Each cat has a different form and expression, and they’re all adorable.

    伊勢神宮内宮前のおかげ横丁にあるお土産やさんになります。こちらのお店には様々な種類の招き猫が置かれており、その数は1000種類にも及ぶそうです。大小様々な招き猫があり、好きな人にはたまらないお店でしょうね。

    This snoopy-themed cafeand shop is located a three-minute walk inside the Oharai shopping street, near the Uchimiya bus stop in Ise City, Mie Prefecture. In addition to the Matcha latte, Hoji tea and hot chocolate, which come with Snoopy marshmallows, the cafealso sells dishes such as a bowl of rice topped with Ise Chicken Tengu and IsejiTakekagoGozen, made with local Ise ingredients, as well as desserts such as cakes and tarts, all adorned with Snoopy decorations. There are also Snoopy Teahouse-limited goods such as Kiriko glass, Nambu Ironware and tote bags for sale.

    This variety shop is approximately 10 -minute walk from both the north entrance of Kintetsu and JR Iseshi Station and Kintentsu Ujiyamada Station. Formerly the Cafe Mona Lisa, it's been renewed, and in July of 2018 they started selling cookies and unique Ise themed designer goods. It's in a remodeled warehouse that was built 150 years ago and used to store brown sugar. Their popular Satonaka cookies are a local favorite from their time as a cafe, incorporating the salt, rice, and sake left as offerings at Ise Jingu Shrine in a contemporary way. They also sell bagels on Thursdays.

    Himonojuku is a shop specializing in dried seafood made with fresh fish and shellfish from Mie Prefecture. It is located on Oharaimachi-dori Avenue in Ujiimazaike-cho in the city of Ise, Mie Prefecture. Himonojuku sells fish that is purchased at the markets in places such as Owase and Minami-Ise and processed and dried at the shop's own plant. Only natural, color-free domestic salt is used in drying the fish. In the front part of the store is a large metal griddle where employees grill dried fish for customers to sample. In addition to providing samples, employees explain the different varieties of seasonal fish and carefully teach customers how to prepare, eat, and preserve dried fish.

    This direct sales store sells local specialty products. The marker for this store is a billboard with a treasure ship ridden by a cow and fish. In particular, the Ouchiyama brand of dairy products is popular not just for their milk but also their yogurt and soft pudding. Local rice and takoyaki octopus balls are also sold in an adjoining building.

    This shopping district has many pottery shops with connections to Mie Prefecture. There are 14 small stores in an area that slightly resembles a town, where pottery items of many different styles are sold. The items sold here are traditional wares from Iga and Yokkaichi-banko in Mie. They also carry wares from Seto and Tokoname in Aichi Prefecture, which have deep ties with Ise, in addition to those from Mino and Shigaraki, where much of Japan's pottery is produced. There is also a tea store where you can take a short break inside and slowly take a look around at the items.

    Ise Kadoya is a long-established teahouse founded in 1575, and now produced local beer that represents Ise such as Shinto Beer and Ise Kadoya Pale Ale. The directly-managed store is located immediately outside of Ise Jingu Shrine's outer shrine. They sell sake available for purchase as souvenirs, and barrel craft draft beer for walk and drink. There is also a set menu where you can drink and compare four different types of local Ise beer, making it a shop beer lovers enjoy themselves. In addition to alcohol, they offer snacks including Niken Chaya Mochi (rice cakes with bean paste filled and dusted in kinako soybean powder) famous from when it was a teahouse, so it is somewhere those who do not drink can come to.

    This Japanese confectionery shop is located a one-minute walk from Uji Bridge that leads to Ise Jingu Shrine's Inner Shrine. One of their specialties is kamiyo mochi, a historical product known as something given for travelers to eat on their pilgrimage, called okage-mairi, to Ise Jingu Shrine in Edo period. It looks like green, bite-sized kusamochi (rice cake with Japanese mugwort mixed in the dough). Using mochi rice milled from select red beans and brown rice, they use no preservatives and only natural mugwort for their color and aroma. It was awarded the Ministers Award at the 19th National Confectionary Exposition for its great taste, and has received the honor of being presented to the Crown Prince in 1975.

    This studio makes Ise Shunkei lacquerware, a local traditional craft whose origins extend back to the Muromachi period. Operating out of a traditional townhome adjoining the Museum of Ise Kawasaki Merchants, the studio makes and sells this variety of lacquerware designed for everyday use which reached its peak between the Edo and early Showa periods. Made by applying red shuai lacquer or shunkei lacquer colored with red food coloring or iron oxide to hinoki cypress, Ise Shunkei lacquerware is characterized by its outstanding texture which emphasizes the beauty of the woodgrain. Visitors can also watch as artisans make use of skills accumulated over long years produce lacquerware in the studio area. The studio's lacquered trays and boxes are simple in design yet exude a warmth and richness, and have recently gained attention as items which also fit in perfectly with a modern lifestyle.

    伊勢神宮内宮のおはらい町で海鮮や松阪牛の串焼きを売っています。松阪牛の串焼きは1,200円とB級グルメの範疇を逸脱した一元観光客価格に感じました。 部位にもよりますが、脂身が多い松阪牛であれば、脂で柔らかく串に刺しても溶け落ちるはずです。 松阪牛だとしてもクズ肉で暴利な価格設定が否めませんでした。

    レジで最初に注文して、セルフサービスになっています。 お昼の時間に生シラス丼をいただきました。 もう少しシラスに新鮮な甘みがあるといいかな〜。 ここの牡蠣の佃煮はお土産や酒の肴にとてもいいと思います。 外宮のところにもお店があります。

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
