A farm and tourist-oriented facility which only creates additive-free and low additive products based on the theme of combining healthiness and deliciousness. The farm’s spacious grounds are host to a brewery, café, hot spring bathhouse, and more. At the Ham & Weiner Senmonkan, you can watch ham and sausages being made through a glass window. Visitors can learn about food and farming through a variety of classes on hand making foods. At the educational farm area, children can milk cows and ride ponies. There’s also a restaurant which serves fresh vegetables and pork raised on-site.

This farm covers a large area. When we visited there were several large school parties, and they were clearly having a lot of fun. Our group ate in a large barn-like restaurant at the top of the...

In addition, they also exhibit and sell original kumihimo goods including sashes for kimono, scarves, and dolls made from kumihimo.

Was here Iga for a minimum conference so a visit to the museum was a must. Lovely space for someone not familiar with the craft of Japanese braiding. The gift shop has some lovely examples of...

This facility a one-minute walk from Kintetsu Yamada Line's Saiku Station lets visitors experience the various aspects of Japan's Heian Period, including its culture, technologies, games, and more. You can take commemorative photographs wearing an authentic Heian Period ceremonial kimono, and they have plenty of settings for great shots. One of these is a palanquin you can get in like the ones that used to be reserved for the Emperor, Empress, and the shrine maidens of Ise Jingu Shrine. You can also get a feel for the Heian period with games that were popular back then like sugoroku board games, kemari (a sort of kick ball), and kaiawase (a shell matching game). Their exhibitions and activities change throughout the year according to the season, so there are lots of experiences you can only get there.

The laws of Edo regulating the expenditures of the commoners notwithstanding, the Matsusaka Stripe was the pride and joy of the most fashionably dressed and admired. At Matsusaka Cotton Hand Weaving Center one can experience the depth of weaving while imagining the Edo period when all Matsusaka Cotton was hand-woven. There are two weaving courses available, one for the size needed to cover small accessories and the other for larger fabric about one meter in size, and it is possible to try these courses if one makes a reservation at least three days in advance.
